i'm looking to buy a digital SLR camera sometime soon. i would preferably want a canon (i have a powershot so i already can navigate a little bit with a canon camera) and i was wondering if anyone has any reccommendations. or if there's one that you reccommend instead of a canon, that works too. thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. I recommend the Canon 40D or the 30D. They are both extremely good cameras. Canon glass (lenses) can be more expensive, than that of Nikon, so be aware of this if it affects your decision.

Also check out eBay, they usually sell large kits at discount prices, just make sure you get Canon lenses as the cheaper lenses such as Sigma can dramatically change your photos outcome.

I love my 30d and my glass... those red stripe 2.8 lenses are beautifullll.... At the paper where I worked we were given Nikons to use and they never were able to stand up to my canon as far as color, quality, and comfort.

    Viva Canon.

I have a Canon rebel and it suits me just fine. Reasonably priced for a DSLR too.

  7. Yeah, you can get a Canon XTi for a steal right now, and it has auto-cleaning built in ;)

Have you used the auto-clean? Does it seems to work? I've only watched the videos...

  9. I've shot with friends who use the XTi and love the cleaning feature. Nothing like going to a car show or event with a Nikon then zooming in to see a shot you took and seeing little dark circles ruining the photos, and not having cleaning tools on hand, so I'm sure it comes in handy.

You're from the area, we should go shooting sometime :cheers2:

I actually do have that lens for my Canon EOS 630, it'll work on the EOS 40D, right?

The Canon Rebel XT or XTi. Either that or the Nikon D40
