The new Sigur Ros album.

Just wanted to hear what people thought of it. I really didn't think I would like it after listening to the 30 second samples of each song on iTunes but then I downloaded it and I thought it was pretty good.

I like Sigur Ros because of their deep and emotionally powerful music, "()" is my favorite album. However, this new pop direction that they went isn't all that bad. I give it 4/5.

 

Yeah. I like it. "()" is a fantastic album, but I was beginning to get a little bit bored with that huge "edge of heaven" orchestral sound they were playing. Dont get me wrong, I love that, but it was beginning to sound a bit samish.

The new album is a fantastic change of direction for them. It wouldnt surprise me if it turns some of their fans off, but I think that at the very least, they deserve credit for not just trying to take the safe option of re-hashing their old stuff, time and time again.

Im going to see them in the coming weeks. Cant wait!
