hahah this cracked me up because I have zoned out at stop signs too many times. & also stopped at green lights.
haha that is great! and drunk drivers may go over the speed limit, while the stoned driver is traveling 45 in a 65 haha
so this actually came up in conversation with me and friends last night. Background, I know people who have died in drunk driving accidents. I am an advocate of people NOT driving drunk. However I will drive stoned. A few of them claimed they could never drive stoned, and insisted that one could learn to drive drunk similar to those who can drive stoned. Do you guys believe this? I feel like its bullshit, but at the same time maybe...Anyone agree with them?
i dont know. i actually drive better when drunk. when im sober i tend to drift into other lanes alot cause im not paying attention. however if im drunk, not blackout drunk, but like a 40 oz drunk, i focus so hard cause i dont wanna get pulled over. driving stoned is easy as shit. but i will also drive during an acid peak so that might just be my personality
If I know I'm going to be toking or drinking, I take care of all the crap beforehand, like getting munchies, whatever, and just don't drive.
ya I can drive alright with a couple drinks in me. I get pretty focused on the road and feel as if concentrating is fun. however, my problem is I typically keep drinking until I get pretty drunk, at which time, I should by no means be driving. few drinks though, is alright.
although im not a bad driver when im stoned i hate doin it, ill be goin fast and then ill slow down not knowin it and ill look down and im goin like 15 below the speed limit, and usually if im driving stoned its during a burn cruise and it blows havin to drive with my knees while tryin to hit a bowl hahaha, i love buds though
haha that joke is hilarious. my idea on the "driving high" situation, though, is that it's stupid. my friend was trying to tell me he can drive stoned, and has, but that "drunk driving is bad". it's just like, come on, do you need to do drugs when you have to drive? it's irresponsible, and if something ever happened, it's like oh just because i wanted to get stoned i have a huge problem. it's just an unnecessary situation that has a huge potential for disaster. i'm all for responsible drug use. that means avoiding taking drugs in situations where you need to be focused and aware of other people. people saying it's okay to drive high just contributes to the idea that there's no such thing as responsible recreational drug use.
I agree, handling 2 tons of metal driven by an unstable vapor oxidation process surrounded by anywhere up to several hundred other similar pieces of machinery, all moving at a velocity capable of ending a life in a collision isn't the time to be inebriated or reduced in capacity. that being said, yeah, driving stoned 'might' be safer than driving drunk, it's like saying being shot with a 9mm is safer than being shot with a 4 inch naval gun. Even the lesser of the two evils isn't a preferable one.
I drive stoned all the time...fuck i drive & get stoned. Drink & drive, no...i like my car and my life & i dont trust myself to drive drunk. Altough i did drive trippin on a 1/8tb of shrooms...NEVER AGAIN!!! Nothing bad happened, amazingly, but still, i'm so lucky some shit didnt go down.
drinking and driving is a big no-no, i've never done it, but i don't mind driving stoned if its a really easy drive or familiar one. i hate driving stoned if i'm somewhere i'm unfamiliar with though.
I don't think driving under the influence is always safe or responsible, but don't you get better at it the more often you do it? After all, sober new drivers that are are more dangerous than sober experienced drivers. Maybe we should have separate tests and licenses for each drug and drug combo. So if you want to drive stoned you go to stoned drivers ed, take a stoned driving test, get a stoned drivers license, and they would have to verify that you are stoned for each part since it's state dependent learning.
I absolutely drive stoned out of my fucking tree.. i would smoke an ounze and drive no fuckin problem.. but drunk i daw the line at that its completely differant... being stoned might mess up your reaction times but drunk just fucks with your depth perception and your ability to perceive other things... Call me a hypocrite but in my opinion they are completely differant drugs and should be treated as such... Peace
