Omg i knew my room shaky and jumpy as hell and RIGHT WHEN I WALKED OUT RIGHT OUTSIDE my door was a trauma patient from an accident being moved.... then I saw him again later.... let's just say he had almost no face and a HUGE gap with blood running on all through his stomach.

Let's just say I needed more meds after that.

    It terrified me.

Dan's like "this is the EMERGENCY ROOM. accidents happen all the time"

Yeah but um I didn't wanna see that. Just the thought of it makes me feel so sick I could throw up right now.

Oh, don't you know, that's what happens when you shoot up too much heroin. So if you ever question if it's too much, you'll only really find the answer if you have a whole in your face.

Hahaha.... and it causes huge cuts where you can see blood and guts... yep that's motivation enough ;)

I'm serious though...it was the worst thing I ever saw and I wasn't expecting and it scared the shit outta me!! I think I am scarred for life!

Yeah, I try to avoid emergency rooms because I get the heebie jeebies from missing body parts and gaping wounds. Which is why I dropped the idea of being a nursing major. *shudders*

You should totally just forget about it, and that's only achievable by ODing on Pepto Bismo.

I'm actually in love with hospitals and always get a little giddy when I get to visit someone at one, even though I'm always sad that they have to be there. I looooove the places, everything fascinates me, and I love being creeped out. But I'm much better creeped out at a distance, and I usually watch the ambulances from upstairs, because I can't handle blood and gore except from an aerial view. :D

You should work as a tech then. Well you might have to see a few wounds but at the hospital here all you would have to do is take vital signs and help nurses if they needed you.

Aaaahhh, I SHOULD. Duuude, I think you might have just saved my ass from a future of flipping burgers at the Queen until they find someone young and more qualified when I'm 83. Haha.

Finally a good deed! I can be bad for the rest of the year! haha

Oh and I doubt they would find anyone to replace you at the Queen. They are hoping that you work there until you drop. Then they will bury you under the icecream machine.

My mom is an ER Tech and she's seen a lot of terrible things...

I guess once a lady came in after heart surgery and her staples starting coming out and this pink goop was all over the place and my mom had to hold towels against it.

And she's had to give cpr to many people who are coding, and quite a few have died.

My girlfriend works at a hospital. She has seen a few people collapse and die, many with bad diseases, but the grossest had to be someone with elephantitis of the nuts. She said he had loose fitting long shorts on and you could still see his nuts, and they smelled :(

i've worked as an ER tech, and all i have to say is... when someone is really in need and you can help them, you do.

Lucky... i have stayed pretty quiet about everything that has been going on for you lately, but now i gotta speak up. when i worked in the ER, we had lots of patients who came in because they were sick from withdrawing from some substance or another. and you know what? i would take a trauma patient any day... because they are ALWAYS grateful for the help you give them. addicts... very few of them are truly desiring of the help, nor are they truly interested in getting help. they just want a quick fix to get them feeling better until they can go back out and use again. the ER is not a place to truly get help for an addiction. the most they can do is MAYBE get you into rehab, depending on the circumstances. but most times, they can't really even do that, because there are so many people (like you it seems) who go in, and a few days later get bored with it and leave.

i wish you could see yourself from a point outside of yourself. the things you consider fun and exciting are really just feeble attempts to delude and distract yourself with drama, so you don't have to look at the fact that you don't like your life. maybe it's time you do something about it, and actually wake up to the fact that you CAN turn your life around, choose to do something different, and find new things that are WAY more interesting than anything you've got going on now. the only reason you can't stand the boredom of rehab is because it gives you JUST enough stillness to start seeing yourself. one day you WILL have to stop running away from yourself. i just hope it's not too late.

So... the most DISGUSTING, HORRIBLE thing in the E.R. - was a person?
