Okay, so I've been researching on how to make firecrackers and another method of baking bud to increase the potency of the THC. But before I make these I still have a couple of questions. This is what I know: ***Firecrackers*** 2 Graham crackers Natural Peanut Butter .5 Grams of Bud finely grounded up Tinfoil Spread PB on the crackers and sprinkle bud on top of the PB, stir it into the PB and wrap in tinfoil. Put in oven for 20 minutes on 320-350 degrees, once done cooking take out them out and let them cool off, then eat. Now the problem is I don't cook at all really, so what I'm wondering is do I pre-heat the oven to 320-350 degrees, or do I put in the firecrackers in the oven and then turn it onto 320-350 degrees and let cook? And if I have to pre-heat, how long do/should I wait till I put in my firecrackers? Thanks in advance! ********
Yes, you must pre-heat. Just turn the oven on before you start making the firecrackers, and by the time you have finished, the oven should be warm enough.
Thank you Jared for replying, but I don't really understand what you mean in your post.:hat: And thank you also to ghost of rat, that information will suffice. :cheers2: I now open this thread to anything anyone wants to talk about! How about that airline food?
FWIW if your oven's temp occasionally spikes after pre heat you may want to reduce the temperature. Per Ed Rosenthal, "Marijuana produces THCA, an acid with the carboxylic group (COOH) attached. In its acid form, THC is not very active. It is only when the carboxyl group is removed that THC becomes psychoactive. When marijuana is smoked, the THC behind the hot spot is vaporized as the hot air from the burn is drawn through the joint or pipe bowl to the unburned material. The liquid THC and other cannabinoids have a boiling point of between 180-200 C (355-392 F). Before they turn gaseous, at around 106 C (220 F), the carboxyl group is released from the molecule as carbon dioxide and water vapor." -(Taken from CC article http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/2794.html) Cliffnotes: THC and other goodies will boil between 355F-392F Decarboxylation occurs at 220F If your oven's temp spikes you may want to adjust so that the max temp during a spike does not go over 355F, if you want to maximize efficiency.
I read about that also stonerbike, and what it said was this. To increase the potency and unlock more THC, put your nugs on tinfoil and in the oven at 210-220 degrees for 10-15 minutes. When your able to pinch the nug and it breaks up like ash or dust it is ready to smoke. The heat takes out whatever water that is left in the nug and therefore it gains extra THC content. The bud will loose its taste and smell, but you can make a only 3 people get high nug, into a 5 people get stoned super bud. This is a good way to make your sack last longer, and when added to firecrackers it can have good devasting effects. I can't wait to try these recipes out when I'm able to get back to my hometown and go to my friends house!
Also, thanks you's to drew5147 for the advice on the constant temp, and to stonerbike for the advice of wathcing out for tempature spikes. I don't know to much about cooking, lol!
