Soooo, I'm pretty sure most people have heard about the New Yorker cover thats has been getting into plenty of newspapers, even up here in Canada. You know, the one that paints her up as a terrorist and Obama as a devout Muslim? One of our big newspapers, The National Post, had the cover art on the front page and then an entire page in the back of the front section dedicated to the abuse of First Ladies throughout U.S. presidential history. Of course, they didn't go through all of them, just the ones that managed to earn themselves some disrespect from the people and from media. For example, Eleanor, Hillary, etc. I was curious as to what others thought of this and of her, and of course how much influence and action there would be from her in the White House.
Sorry, good idea. It is idiotic because even for satire it is breathtakingly stupid. One ill informed misjudged comment provoked this. Instead of taking the harmless gesture for what it was. They now have them as OBL lovin' American hating terrorists. Fair? Nope Idiotic? YES.
I agree. my problem is they seem like wolves in sheeps closes. she is a member of the C.F.R. he got more money from the nuk power than any other canidate.
Only witnessing a small fraction of his charm offensive, it is difficult for me to fully appreciate if he is a "sheep in wolves clothing". I don't share your concerns about were some of his money comes from, or if his wife is a member of CFR. But still, from time to time, you can see his facade slip and some I don't think he is going to a force for as much change as he suggests..
obama seems a little too eager to become president. also, if his wife was really ashamed of her country for al those many years. i don't see why she didn't just stop wasting her time here and move to a different country.

she didn't say she was ashamed of what america does. she said up until her hubby ran for president, she was ashamed of america.

Not my filter, I'm at work. Forgive me for being dense, but what actually is it suppoed to be telling me about her? How does it relate to her comments?
Well I am frequently ashamed of Canada because of a lot of conservative politics and/or political projects (about environment, war, about abortion, prison for minors, poor recognition of the francophone minority, etc...) but I stay here because: 1) There's hope that things could change AND 2)I'm realistic enough to know that it's not better anywhere else... every place has it's positive and negative aspects, these are just different from a place to another One can be ashamed of what his/her country looks like but still have reasons to stay there and keep fighting what's wrong.
