A friend of mine is about to order some 2c-i and 2c-e (maybe). I was planning on helping him weigh it out since I have a diamond scale that I've used to weigh DMT in the past. The scale says it goes down to 0.002g. It's pretty consistent if you tare it and put something on all at once, but if you add tiny amounts it doesn't seem to add up right. (You can add tiny amounts that should increase the mgs, but sometimes it doesn't change.) It seems like the really good scales cost >$800, which isn't really an option right now Usually, for DMT, I would put on a playing card, take about the right amount out, and weigh it. If is was too far off, I'd start with a blank card again and re-weigh. It was pretty easy getting it from the card to the bowl. It works fine for DMT. 50mg or so are easy to weigh out and being 5mg off doesn't really make a big difference in the long run. I'm a little worried about the 2c-e and 2c-i. We tested out with baking soda, and made 6 piles of 10mg....but then when we combined it was only 52mg. (I thought if anything it'd be more than 60mg, since I assumed that the scale would read 10mg for anything between 10mg and < 12mg. Maybe it averages though....so it reads 10mg for anything between 9 and 11mg. If they were all about 9mg, it'd almost add up right.) It was also a pain to weigh it out because it was hard to get a 10mg reading....so it would take about 5 retries to be precise to the mg. I don't mind waisting a little baking soda during the 5 tries, but he doesn't want to lose any good stuff. He wants to be able to portion out about 5-10 hits that can be taken on the road. (Between 10-15mg for 2ce and 15-20mg for 2ci). So....are there any tricks to weighing out 2c-e or 2c-i on a scale that's pretty good, but not great. Does dissolving it in water and using volume to potion out work for either of these substances? If it's dissolved, does it degrade faster? When it dissolves, it the solution definitely homogeneous? He'd rather just keep it dry and in capsules if possible. In the test runs with baking soda, it seems like there will be small amounts left on the playing card and lost in the transfer from the playing card to the capsule. What is the best way to deal with this problem? Also....he plans to keep the bulk of the substance in the baggy it comes in, and then in an air tight mason jar in a dry cool place. Does that seem ok? How long before it starts to degrade noticeably? Sorry for all the questions and the long post. Just want to be sure everything is prepared before he orders.
Which scale are you using? I had a cheap scale that would measure .002g and I had this exact same problem. I would always take the sample off, add more powder and then place it back onto the scale and reweigh it. This seemed to work better. This is pretty typical for a cheap .002 scale. You just need to reweigh your sample several times. Its a pain in the ass working with such a tiny amount of powder on a scale like that... it just comes with the territory. You can weigh out individual capsules, but in my opinion, thats tedious and fustrating. You could easily weigh out however much 2c-i and 2c-e you need and dilute into a liquid solution. For example, I would measure out 150mg of 2c-i and dilute it into 150 ml of distilled water. That way 1ml = 1mg. The 2c-i and 2c-e will be stable and homogeneous (make sure you stir the solution right before you measure out doses each time, just to make sure). Liquid storage is ok with phenethylamines. They won't degrade much, but I wouldn't store them this way for long term storage. I always weighed my dose directly in the capsule. First weigh the capsule, and then add powder until you reach the desired dose. Remember to take the capsule off each time you add more. Also, I dont tare the weight of the capsule... for whatever reason, my scale always worked better in the 100mg range than it did down in the 20mg range. That will be fine. Phenethylamines like 2c-i and 2c-e are extremely stable. I have 2c-i stored for years like that with absolutely no noticeable loss in potency.
i have a very average mg scale that can piss me off too sometimes... to make it easy, and because with a lot of RCs i dont care about being off by a few mg's, i weigh out 100mg at a time then eyeball from there
If you want quite precise, just get a bullet reloading scale. They aren't that expensive and are beam balance scales, so no worrying about taring. They measure down to .1 grains most of the time and that is about 6mg, so you'll be quite close.
I have the scale in the attached image. So...I guess instead of drops, one might use a measuring spoon to get 10-15ml. I guess a tablespoon would be about right. This is looking like what I might suggest he do since it's stable and all. It's a lot less suspicious having a little bit of water than capsules on the road anyway. Maybe I'll try a couple capsules too and see how hard it is. (He'll be so glad to hear it's so stable.) Where's a good place to find that? For $80 it's worth trying out. That's a great price.
that scale sucks dick.. i had one, and it was just one big waste of time even buying it i upgraded just the slightest bit cost wise and got a significantly better scale (although any scale that weighs anything with any sort of accuracy is a step up from that scale IMO)
Do you recall were you got it? I'll look for one for about $80....but I haven't seen anything out there....I'll look more.
The only other one I see in the price range is this one: Weigh Gemini-20 Portable Milligram Scale (See attached images) When I search around, I just get the one I have (or similar ones that are re-branded) and that Gemini-20 scale. All others are >200. (The Gemini-20 seems to have the same manufacturer as the one I have.) I have a feeling either way it'll be hard to get something for cheap (<150) that's really a high quality scale capable of mgs...but if someone tell's me the Gemini-20 is really worth it, I'll try it out. (He'll be fine with my scale for ~50mg or so. It really is fine for that...so he'll probably just end up dissolving it in distilled water for now...but I'd still like a nice scale for times when it's needed.)
^^^ thats what i have.. its still not that great, but its a lot better then the other one.. i would not trust it for DOx or any drug where a mg or two will make a helluva differance tho for most RCs it works fine
just so u all know the scale i mentioned in salmons quote is working great since i got the substance in.
The one from the other thread is the exact same form factor as the one I have. Same box, tweezers, weights, and scale (but branded slightly differently). Do your weights come out exact when you weigh them? Mine don't. They're about 14-15mg off. Does yours show even and odd mgs? (Is it really 0.001g?)
