ive never done it before but know people personally who have. laser is the way to go. its painful, no scarring but about 10x more expensive than the tattoo itself.

why get it removed? you could go to a great artist and they could cover it up for you. do you have a pic of it?

it cant be that bad....I have some tattoos that I'm not particularly fond of, but I dont think I'd get them removed, I would just do a coverup. Is yours too big to cover up?

Lasering is the way to go for complete removal. You may still get shadow images, especially of the green because there is a point where you start scarring more than fading the tattoo. Be aware of the fact that it is MUCh more exspensive and painful than the original tattoo.

Anyway, if you like the tattoo, I'm assuming you dislike the "tramp stamp" placement. I would just expand the tattoo. It will start looking like a major piece and you won't notice the fact that the original tattoo is poorly placed.

    Cheers,

PS: I don't think that the tattoo is bad at all.

yeah i would expand it, i think going with the rose theme would be awesome, maybe a thorny vine theme going further up your back, that'd look awesome. it doesn't look badly done, or even trampy if that's why you don't like it. but i don't think any tattoos or piercings represent anything you don't want it to =/

Yeah, totally expand the tattoo if you don't like the placement.. a good tattoo artist can make it look awesome with a bit of work. Laser removal is crazy expensive and from what I've heard, it really does hurt like a bitch even if you get your skin numbed.

i like it. the placement is fine, IMO.... what didn't you like about the placement? just didn't want it in that spot, or wanted it up, or down, etc?

but i concur with the others. don't get it covered, just expanded and reworked, so that it looks a little more natural (i think i'm getting what's annoying you... it's a little high and is just really THERE?). i like the idea of vines going up the back, or down lower so it's not all right above your pants... talk to a really good tat artist, and they'll be able to help you fix it up so it's suitable to you. :)

i wouldn't say wayyyy too high. it looks just a a little high, but not too bad. seriously, if you add to it, maybe both on the top and the bottom, it'll end up looking way kickass. just talk to a good artist who does good coverup/addon/fix it work, and tell them what you don't like about it, how you wish it looked, they'll be able to help you come up with something that will make it look more to your liking, i'm sure. the artists who do really good coverup work are bloody geniuses. i've seen some AMAZING coverup and fix it stuff. you don't even recognize the damn thing afterwards. so don't lose hope! :)
