Alright I have a good one.. and this has been bothering me since I knew what the easter bunny was.. Why the hell does a bunny give out EGGS on easter? seriously.. like.. bunny...egg... it just doesnt make any friggin sense man!!! any ideas besides a freak accident between a rabbit and a duck? *sparkles*
hmm, well the egg symbolises new life, coming from the resurrection of Jesus. The bunny can either be two things I can think of off the top of my head. 1) just a cute, novelty brought in to assist in the sales of easter eggs by capturing the imaginations of kids. 2) According to South Park, the rabbit is related to a religious cover up, where the first Pope, St. Peter (according to the church anyway, others have their conspiracy theories) was in fact, a rabbit as Jesus couldnt trust a human to be the Pope. Randy Marsh goes on to explain that the first Pope being a rabbit would explain the wierd shape of the Pope's hat, shaped to accomodate rabbit's ears. He also points out the coincidence of the Beatrix Potter character, Peter Rabbit. Obviously South Park has just satired religion (again), but it could actually be vaguely possible, although probably not.
The rabbit is a symbol of the Pagan holiday, which falls around the same time as easter (the time was actually stolen by the early Christians so that the Pagans would be more willing to convert to Christianity since they would still have their celebrations) and the egg is a symbol of rebirth.

I think the bunny might also be a symbol of birth or rebirth...You know the expression "breed like rabbits" ? Well, perhaps with the way bunnies like to make the loving and have many many children, it is in a sense symbolic of rebirth and immortality (like how you are immortal through your children, I don't remember where I originally heard that..but it's out there I swear )

maybe the bunny was a crook and just went and raided a chicken coop and the cops where after him so he had to find a way to get rid of the loot right? so he gave them to little children.. And thats how you got easter
you got the egg thing down and the bunny symbolizes fertility in spring cuz rabbits produce like crazy
