Obama has become the darling of all the political rants here and elsewhere. I almost forgot about McCain.

Everyone already knows McCain is crooked. Many people, however, have a hard time seeing through the corporate media-created hype surrounding Obama and his empty rhetoric about "change." I say that Obama is simply a black version of McCain, but with better lines and delivery. He seems more convincing to the average person who believes in the illusion that the system works for them, thus making him in many ways more dangerous than McCain (I mean, McSame).

It's almost as if McCain is trying to lose this, or at least given up on his chances of winning...

He was born on a military base, which is by law, American territory.

And he's quite a chamer.

The media likes to scrutinise the frontrunner in any election. It increases the drama, and helps create a narrative. People like narratives, and follow them easier than just plain facts, which are confusing.
There are also plenty of people on this board who enjoy taking an outside view just for the sake of taking an outside view. In psychological terms, i believe, it's called 'revelling in the role of the contrarian'. I've been guilty of it more than a few times (I still won't read Harry Potter). Basically, it's just plain fun to be different, and in a philosophical way, neccessary (the minority view has been proven true many times over the years).

Also, Obama will probably be the next president, he's more interesting than McCain.

On a related note, McCain said we should support Czechoslovakia, a country that hasn't existed in 15 years. One wonders what his policy is on Burma, Ceylon, West Germany and the Ottoman Empire?

The first thing I got on google was the mayan god of death.
His accomplice is Ixtab, who i guess in this context would be Leiberman.

When Bob Dole was running for President, he referred to the Atlanta Braves as the Milwaukee Braves. :)

McCain has made his so-called foreign policy experience the centerpiece of his campaign, yet he has made the Czechoslovakia gaff a number of times. He made a remark about curtailed energy supplies to Czechoslovakia. On another occasion he talked about setting up missile sites in Czechoslovakia.

I get that from him too... Not only that, he's got a big uphill battle to overcome. We all know some of the basics, such as his age, and his support for Bush and his policies. But at this point, there is nothing that McCain can offer to the people that Obama already hasn't. And the fact that he's still emphasizing the war and what military tactics he would take, just distances him and makes him out of touch from what America's citizens really want: To better their lives, and overcome our recession.
