    Tam's

    Wraps

    Bonnets

--any other types of hats/head gear?

does anybody know of a reliable place that sells these either online or in retail?
how about the positives and negatives of having any head gear? I'm looking to head something that I can wear but not sure where to look. I have been looking online and there are some in online stores but want to check on the average prices and their usefulness! Just information in general on these would be great! I love hats in general and always wore them before dreads so i am psyched to get one!

Positives = You don't have dreads everywhere in your face, but it can be fun anyway... and it make your hair knot faster.

Negatives = No idea what's negative about having something on your head if your hair is dry, if its wet then ya you got a big problem.

Don't know where to buy any of these I just to them by myself.

I recently ordered a tam on ebay. you can also find a lot of good handmade hats and tams at esty.com. I may attempt my first crocheting experience soon, if so I'll let you know how it turns out :cheers2:

houseofnubian.com sells a great many dreadlock hats in different styles.

This website celebrates black culture, so the hats are a bit more street-style and less on the organic, granola side of things, but if you're looking for a muted, conservative hat to retain a professional look, it's a great resource.

I'm knocking out a crochet tam atm, looks a bit rough but I only intend to wear it in bed under the assumption that the woolliness will accelerate the dreading process. If it turns out ok I might make a slightly tighter knit one for working in.

Crochet is a piece of piss and my total cost is currently 1 quid for a ball of wool, which I doubt I will finish.
