Is there a technical term for this?

What if a person is attracted to other people of the same gender, but has absolutely no interest in sex with them? This person enjoys the aesthetic appearance of some others of their own gender and has a very close relationship with some others of their same gender, but is not attracted to them in a sexual way at all? Have you ever heard of such a person? Is there a term for a relationship based on this kind of bond? Have you ever had such a relationship? How common would this be?

 

Well that just sort of sounds like friendship. I mean if you enjoy the company of someone of the same gender and find them to be attractive and have a close bond...well that's a friend.
