I wish there were some Mccain supporters here. On racial harmony. "I hated the gooks. Will hate them as long as I live." On the sanctity of marriage. "....you ****" -To his wife Cindy. On womens rights. "Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repetedly, and left to die? When she finally wakes up, she tries to speak. She reaches over to her doctor who leans in and feebly asks, 'where is that magnificent ape?'" On his independence from the party: On his opposition to torture. Voted no on bill 51-45. Banning water boarding.
Neither did Tony Blair. I like Tony Blair, so, I'll be a Mccain supporter. "I hated the gooks. Will hate them as long as I live." McCain made it clear that his anger extends only toward his captors. As a senator, he was one of the leaders of the postwar effort to normalize U.S. relations with Vietnam. Give the guy a break.
How can you say that though when you get up in arms when someone says anything race related here...? Regardless if it was about his "captors" or not, it's still the same thing...
Consider what I am basing my support of John Mccain on. Then weigh that up with how serious do you think I am being.
That was what he stated later. After the media tok notice. But he didn't take back his use of the term 'gook' even. Why should I give the guy a break? He's racist, sexist, is filled with rage, flies of tha handle, and supports policies which will continue the destruction of this country. If anything I'm being light on the guy. Everything about him will destroy America. Is what I would have said if I were being too rough on him. Although that position could be argued rather saliently.
Wow...*Drops support of Mccain like a hot potatoe*. Seriously, I'm not being serious. I'm just wondering how many John Mccain supporters will be trotting along here today? This theread looked lonely. Read how I came to support John Mccain. In slight defense of him (might as well while I am here) . If he was racist, why would he want to normalise relationships with Vietnam, if he hated them all? It is dispicable the language he used, no doubt.
I'm sure all 7 of them here on hipforums will want to jump to this thread. And about normalizing relations... perhaps more for economic reasons then political reasons. A president who's not necessarily fond of the Saudi people would still hold their kings hand.
Alright, we shall see. I suspect it was multi pronged. Deffinitly for economic reasons. But, John Mccain did not have to do that. I think he took part to get answers to the families questions about their loved ones. A plethora of files came forth once hands were shook. This went on to resolve the fate of many of the M.I.A./P.O.Ws. Do you mean a little like this: What do you base this on: not necessarily fond of the Saudi people
My favorite idiotic thing I've heard McCain say.....He supports viagra being paid by health insurance, but not birth control. When asked about this by the media, he chose to ummm...avoid the question all together... http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q2y8dYwq01g (I hope this link works, otherwise just go to youtube and search "McCain Viagra.")
