So everyone else will not pay more yet again for the same shit and the wage will not go up for them. It really dont matter if the minimum wage is $1.00 an hour or $1000 an hour they prices will just fuck ya for it.

The stark reality of the minimum/low wage worker has begun to sink in to my teenagers. All of them just couldn't wait to get a car and a job!! What freedom they would have then...NOT! My son said basically the same thing your post said a year ago when the reality hit.

Everybody gets all giddy like thats a good thing but the value is relative. Nothing changes. It's more symbolism over substance.

Makes it awful hard to push them into the work force especially when your a good ways from a town where there is work for them. Makes it hard for them to understand this until they actually give it a go .Since we no longer know our neighbours and folks are so untrusting of anyone these days even makes it plum difficult to try n talk them into hiring themselves out for odd jobs.Hell even come time to go to college anymore is becoming difficult yet staying home to farm for profit is not most kids dream world...

It's supposed to be at $7.25 next year which is just a dollar less than I make right now, so I can tell you for sure if I don't get one hell of a raise or find a different job before then, I DEFINITELY will be looking for new employment.

The minimum wage is only $6.55 now? That really is pathetic. In the early 1960s I think the minimum wage was about $1.25,adjusted for inflation that would be over 12 dollars. The US is the only democratic nation in the world with such a low minimum wage.

Now employers will have to pay more...thus raising the prices of good to maintain profits, thus meaning that the extra money you make will now got o covering the higher prices of things.

It was my point exactly. I make $35.00 an hour in a very poor area so my money goes pretty far for me.
