Carlos Castaneda? Perhaps, I misspell him? Anyway he's a famous writer about the old Mexican Indian don Juan, who explains "the way of the warrior", which is linked to alternative reality or alternative vision of the "usual things", which are not usual, but it is our bored imagination making them look usual and boring. Never read him in English, though. Everyone was crazy about him some time ago. So he's not just a cigar, he's much like a truck full of cigars.
He's probably before your time. Here's a Wikipedia link for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Castaneda
He's before my time too....but I still have read him. WEll the first three books anyway. I need to go back to finishing them...but got caught in them and just wasn't vibing with them anymore. Did that happen to anyone else?
Dude get The Complete Idiots Guide to Toltec Wisdom its great. i have read all Castaneda's books several times they are great. i started off with A Seperate Reality and i was hooked, great place to start at. The two best books he wrote where Fire From Within and The Power of Silence but all are awesome except maybe Second Ring of Power.
I tried to read them but kept thinking, no one could possibly be as stupid as this Carlos. I mean can't you just follow simple instructions and the questions he kept asking made me feel sorry for Don Juan. I probably would have enjoyed them if you could have gotten rid of Carlos but he was the one writting them.
LOL, I know just what you mean. It's like "how stupid can you be Carlos!" But its all made up anyway. I always read it as Don Juan being his hallucination.....but who knows
we change the world with one act of random kindess at a time -God...in evan almighty...A.K.A Morgan Freeman
people like to think that theres a greater purpose in life..thats why we have religions because people seem to think that theres a greater power than here on earth.........i apoligize Jah if i have upset you
Humans really, as a whole are a race that loves to lie, or at the very least fabricate what really is. Look at history, it's usually written by the victors and thus is commonly distorted. People exaggerate all the time to make things sound more exciting or simply make up entire situations for whatever their motivation. The bases for all of this deceiving is our ability to lie to ourselves. Most if not everyone does it, from the "I won't do this tomorrow," or "I'll do this today." (Procrastination) Than there's religion, which I personally like to think of as more of a false hope. I'd describe false hope basically as a lie that is told to another or yourself to make things more comfortable/explainable (not entirely a "lie" though, because I personally like to believe that most if not all religions hold some form of truth, which could in turn be my "false hope".) Take for example the hope one has in their brother, if their brother is someone who's been there for the individual in the past, chances are he'll be there in the future, however this notion of "god", "buddha", "jah" etc... does not provide that assurance, therefore I consider that to be somewhat of a "false hope". We also all play a large role in the formation of our own realities. Perception , opinion, surroundings, companions etc...all help to formulate some kind of a non-mathematical formula that results in what we see, hear, feel, smell and taste which in turn also helps to form what we call reality. Perhaps that is why there are so many hypocrites, fakes, liars, exploiters, and the like, just so that people can feel more comfortable (pleasure not happiness) in their own life.
we've got LOADS of golden eagles here, likely that population can be reestablished. but why would people poison them and stuff? that doesn't make any sense.
I would even put it plain as "propaganda". Well, while I agree to the above, to me this is a matter of finding of one religion, which would unite in it all the "forms of truth" we find dispersed in these religions. When you collect together all these grains of truth, you can filter out the "false hopes". You already have the sense of it, so you just need to walk this path to the end. It should not be considered as a trifling matter, but rather like science... The "reincarnation" looks like "false hope"? OK, let's see why... Does a soul live after the death of the body? Let's see about the evidence... Can a loving God torture the "bad guys" in "hell"? Well, this doesn't sound like "love" even to us sinful humans. Now maybe this teaching is false as well? Then why do the churches teach it? Could it be, they need to keep us in fear, so that we could continue paying them money to continually offer "authorized" prayers to make it softer for our poor relatives "in hell"??...Why did the ancient religions teach it? Maybe, for the same reason?... It is amazing, how many bad things are being done because of money! You see, everything has its explanation. Every false teaching is here for a reason. Such questions will unmistakably take us to the truth, the one and only logical explanation, that will include every detail and also leave a feeling of satisfaction and trust in our future. Such truth as would make us happy. Do our eyes lie us about the beautiful world we are living in? Not really. Is this world so created, that it can provide for every need we humans can have? It is indeed. Now could a wicked, perverted and merciless kind of God create such world? Such study brings us closer to the real person of the creator. It also helps us to see our share in our problems, rather than pile it all on God, who didn't really cause it.
