What is the best place to get a decent hookah?

Most of the hookahs I've seen ordered off the net were imported trash... I'd rather not waste my money on one that doesn't even hit properly... I was just curious if any of you knew where I could get hooked up with a fat deal on a good hookah

I would recomed going to a hookah bar or cafe that sells Hookahs. They will often sell you ones that they use on a regular basis. My girlfriend bought me one at a local place and she was able to pick one that has three hoses and spins. It is very nice.

 

Seems to me the best ones would be imported from Turkey, or somewhere in the Middle East.

I don't think these folks have any idea how far away most of Montana is from the closest head shop or hookah bar.

The only headshops nearby order their hookahs online... and mostly 'tis imported junk from china. There is no such thing as a hookah bar in Montana which is quite disapointing as I love shisha...

 

i highly doubt it but if there is an middle eastern owned convenience/grocery store in your area try there. There is one here and it sells decent looking hookahs.

 

I'd be down for a hookah made of ivory.

 

what you want is an imported hookah, just not from china. the chinese ones are the machine cookie-cutter manufactured hookahs. the authentic ones are hand blown bases, hand painted, and hand crafted and assembled. and they are much more durable and probably work better as a result. and ofcourse, much more decorative and nice to look at.

my girlfriend takes a trip to lebanon every year (shes lebanese) and shes actually bringing me one back this year. by far the best argiles i have smoked were from there. they are generally made in syria or egypt.

look for an arabic food store, or something of the sort. They always have them for sale there for a decent price. even some small mediterranean cafes do. you can get a beautiful 22 inch argile for about $40-$60. just look for a website that looks legit. its pretty easy to tell authenticity from machine made for the westernized america.

 

He may be onto something, here. Find someone at the University who travels to the Mid East, or even LA or New York or Denver, where there might be a Middle Eastern grocery.
