I really love Bob Marley. I would love some input on other reggae similar to Bob. any advice on the best compilations out there? turn me on to some new music! My children know most of the words to the 6 hours of Bob in my truck! My problem is that I dont have the time, or $ to search thru all the reggae that is at Media Play, etc.
so, I like the roots sound, but am not opposed to trying some dancehall? hook me up ?

I would check out some Peter Tosh and any of Marley brothers (ziggy, damian..etc). They all add different style to the genre.

Peter Tosh is awesome. I have been listening to Captured live a lot lately.

I heard some cool reggae the other day, I think the dude said it was some early burning spear.

You should also check out some SKA too. I like the old stuff like the Skatellites. Very jazz influenced & easy to listen too. It has a similar vibe to reggae. Ska will also make you want to dance. :D

yep, these are all bands I know of. I was checking out Toots at the store, there were too many to choose from, so I chose nothing ...thats in a song somewhere...(if you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice) I was hoping for the name of a compilation, so I dont have to go thru a bunch of $ and time to make one for my truck's tape player!

I think I saw the Skatellites in Austin several years ago...

    thanks y'all :)
