There is the FemiDom, which is essentially no more than a plastic bag, although made of the same material as condoms. However, there is less chance of STD transmission by oral sex (and certainly none of pregnancy), so protection isn't usually necessary. As far as flavoured condoms are concerned, I can tell you from experience that although they may smell of the various flavours they are supposed to represent, they have no taste whatsoever. Do you know your boyfriends past sexual history? Is there any little voice in the back of your mind that says "wait a minute, this guy may be full of shit!"? It is possible to catch some STD's through giving him oral, but if you think he is clean, go for it. It's up to you to determine how likely it is that he has herpes or something, and whether or not it's an acceptable risk. best thing to do imo is to go get each other checked out by a doc for STI's. Just because you've known him for a while doesn't mean he doesn't have any STI's. better to be safe than sorry. tbh, oral sex with protection sucks. Just find out if he's clear of disease and have fun.
