Before I started the dreading process, which I might add I'm doing naturally I had short ish hair. I'm now a couple of months in and loose dreads are begining to form, the outer layers of hair is dreading nicely and I'm happy with the resulsts. Upon inspection of the hair under the top layer it seems to be a lot more hectic, less seems to be happening, if anything it seems to be holding the forming dreads down. Is there any danger this will lead to thick matted hair that hasn't formed equally?
i dont think so. just make sure if you fell a dread is forming way too big you rip it into sections and let it do its own thing. youll be fine.
if the hair underneaths havin probs add a few beads or something..but definately keep ontop of the sepoerating them mine stareted from short hair too..
this surely is giving me hope my hair stands upright at the moment XD and its tangling mess but Dazed n Confused, your locks should be fine^^ like they said rip and add beads, or maybe palmrolling can help, it ensures a round form for one thing
I was gonna ask is it ok to pull the forming dreads apart and let them do their thing. Im getting quite itchy fingers and am trying to resist toying with it too much
you have to understand I'm only a couple of months in, I dont want to hinder the process to much, at the same time I want to have some control over the growth of my locks
Just forget about your hair for now. usually the hair will section itself off first, then start knotting up. you probably won't have to worry about ripping for another few months yet...
