DXM and Doxylamine succinate

On my quest for a place that will sell me cough medicine, I came upon the Mobil gas station by my house. They had no cough medicine with pure DXM, just Vicks NyQuil Cough, which ingredients were:

Active Ingredients (in each 15 ml tablespoon) (Purpose)
Dextromethorphan HBr 15 mg (Cough suppressant)
Doxylamine succinate 6.25 mg (Antihistamine)

Is Doxylamine succinate bad for me? I want to go out tonight and get 2 bottles, but if it has bad side effects then I need to know!

 

i dont know. i wouldnt play russian roulette though, but i dont know it may be fine. i wouldnt risk it. get straight dxm or dont get any dxm at all imo

 

It's like Benadryl, and trust me, you don't want to trip out on an antihistamine. I wouldn't recommend anything except pure DXM. Antihistamines are dangerous in high doses too.

 

that stuff is in nyquil, it will make you pass out and is dangerous is doses above 50-100mg

If you cant find a place that will sell it to you, what i do is i go to a shoppers and i dont buy the robotussin at the pharmacy but i bring it to the front checkout where they dont know anything aobut dxm. If that doesnt work and you really wanna try dxm, then try stealing it and if they catch you run off and have a bike ready i guess

 

I can't say I've never stolen DXM because I have, but the more people steal it the more likely it is to be taken off shelves, or at least be replaced with a card you have to take to the checkout to get it. It's only 1 dollar an ounce...

Doxylamine will make you VERY tired. Above 50mgs might start to get trippy and therefor uncomfortable because anticholinergics are delirients, and you do not want to trip on one. Find something with only DXM.

 

i remember another kid asking this same question. search around, we advised him not too, not cause itll kill you, it probably wont, but because it will make you extremely tired, and although its not as potent of a anticholingeric as the more known diphenhydramine, and probably wont mke you see your friends who arent there, its still a possibility. anyway i remember the kid ended up doing it, he said he didnt pass out buut that it was a very drunk feeling trip. i would imagine it to be a waste of a dxm trip and a really uncomfortable time. for instance in all my dxm experiences the ones with the most uncomfortable body load and where i actually thought that i was going to die for a while were when i mixed it with diphenhydramine. im not gunna lie a little bit of diphenhydramine, like a few benadryls a few hours before you dose actually just makes the dxm more potent and allows more of it to end up in your bloodstream because it shuts down cytochrome p450, doing like 200 mgs only about an hour before you dose will fuck you up beyond belief and doesnt feel good on the body at all. like i said, i thought i was gunna die the first time i tried to do the cytochrome p450 thing because i took to much diphenhydramine. my heart felt like it was gunna quit on me, i could feel my blood pumping and was actually struggling for a bit to try and feel cool. so i would imagine with the amount of doxylamine thats in a bottle in conjunction with dxm would be way to much to be comfortable.
