My grandma passed away two weeks ago... in order to celebrate her life, the entire family went to the farm she grew up on to spread her ashes and share stories of her. It took three days for everyone to share their stories. It was incredible. They had a medicine man perform a rite of passage before the ceremony began and we all had to have our auras cleansed before entering the circle, and we all had to think happy thoughts while the peace pipe ritual was performed.

It was an incredible ceremony. After wards, we all went to the Honor the Earth Celebration on the reservation and danced. These are my pictures from the event... which i just felt compelled to share.

The women in this photo are all my cousins.

There are more photos from the trip, if anyone cares to see any of the scenery, more photos from the Honor the Earth celebration or fireworks that were set-off.

hey, great photos. I'm sorry about your grandmother but that celebration sounds like an awesome idea and it looks like it turned out great which is really nice. Your dad kinda looks like my uncle...which is odd. Anyways, I like them, you should definitely feel free to post more.

Thanks, Drew! It was really great... I think she's just happy to be home now. She wasn't having fun anymore...

wow, the pix are wonderful and the whole event sounds amazing.
what an awesome way to celelbrate the life of your grandmother,
or any person. life and death are a natural part of nature, and
should be something we accept and celebrate in a positive way.
    peace & namaste.
