Hello all! I'm posting to invite you all to the Burdock Gathering 2008, in Starks, ME, August 19-26th. The gathering is located on a huge, beautiful organic farm on the banks of the Sandy River. Burdock is a communal participitory gathering focused on sustainable living, anti-oppression, and political action. I'd describe it as a week-long commune in backwoods Maine. Admission is free, camping is free, and the food (3 meals a day) is free; however donations are strongly encouraged because a lot of hard work and funding goes into making this event happen each year. You can find more information at www.burdockgathering.org. The website is a little outdated and will be updated shortly with the lineup of this years events and workshops. We're always looking for new people to offer workshops/skillshares or perform. PM for more information if you'd be interested in some way to contribute, or if you have any further questions regarding the event. On a side note, Burdock is in no way affiliated with the events sponsored by Don Christen of Maine Vocals at Harry Brown's Farm in Starks, ME, including Freedom Fest, Hempstock, and Harvest Fest.
