My dad and I did a wake and bake yesterday morning. And we were sitting outside on the green side porch steps, talking and toking and he was telling me about his travels when he lived in Greece and traveled across Europe in the early to mid-seventies. And he was telling me that he had several epiphanies about life and shit while he was there. And he was telling me about this one day, he was pretty stoned while he was in Amsterdam and he was leaving one of the cafés and he lost his footing on the curb of the sidewalk and almost fell body-first into oncoming traffic, but this random pedestrian who was behind him, a complete stranger, grabbed my dad by the back of his shirt and saved his life. And my dad was telling me on that day, he realized that everyone wants someone that they love around them when they die. And here my dad was, all alone in Amsterdam, didn't know a soul, and a complete stranger saved his life. So, his epiphany was that the only way that you will die in the arms of someone that you love, is for you to love everybody. I love my daddy! We have the most amazing conversations. This is just one of them.
that is beautiful! Love everyone, love life, die happy...sounds like you and your dad are very close, that is also beautiful...spread the love!
that's really fuckin' awesome. not only that 1. your dad is that cool. but, 2. a complete stranger would do that, I suppose there are a few good people left in this world. & last but not least you two are close
I hope you some of you didn't take me seriously.. But I did think your dads realization was pretty cool. If you dont mind me asking, how old is your dad?
