Hopefully I'll be able to continue to update this thread as my dreads mature and tighten. It's nearly two weeks since I've had them, so I wanted to know what you guys thought of my progress. I consider them to be natural, although I did do a bit of back combing (past tense!). No wax or any other products as of yet, though I am going to try and make my own sea salt spray sometime soon.
for being so young they're looking good Our dreadies are only a couple weeks apart, but roughly the same age. They're beautiful, more power to you!
The other day I separated some of the bigger ones, because they were coming apart in the middle. I also bought some cheap beads (what can I say? I'm broke) but I'm happy. Cheap, yet gay pride beads!
They're really cute. Yours look alot like mine (same hair length, type etc) HOpe they continue gettin scrummy. x
Almost a month of dreads! Woo-hoo! My sister helped me separate some of them yesterday, because they were seriously starting to congo. Then I took a shower with the Dr. Bronner's, so the bottom layer of dreads are still curly. I don't feel like my photos are doing them enough justice; they have tightened up SO much over the last few days, and really feel like dreads to me. The roots are getting tighter (something I didn't think would happen for quite some time), it's just the ends that are still curling away. I am very happy with the progress so far. One day of back combing, beads, and now neglect. Lovin' it. Front (you can see how short my hair has gotten, too): Back: Side: Dreads in motion!:
Hehe, aw, thank you everyone. I must say, it's nice to have reassurance from those who have been there, done that. And I'm pretty damn happy with their progress as well. Best thing I've ever done to my hair, hands down.
Dreadlings are almost 2 months old, but I dyed them today (and now soaringeagle dies a little inside... haha, sorry!). It's back to my natural color, so I don't have to keep up with dying it anymore. And, actually, my natural hair is a lot darker than I remember! I haven't been natural (color) for at least a good two years. Crazy, huh? Anyway, the dye didn't go through completely all over my head, but I like it anyway. I also took these pictures before my dreadlettes were completely dry, so they look a lot tamer than ususal! Thanks for looking.
