if god can read our minds why should he require us to go to church and confess? he wants to see some initiative?
because confsesing shows him that we are sorry,we are proclaiming that we made a mistake and we want to move on....however i do not agree with confession boxes.....the priest sitting in there is not required in confession(repentance) because jesus dies for us so that we wud no longer b seperated from god but could receive his holy spirit and talk to him by ourselves
man it's like they say in the AA, the first step is admiting it. i don't get with catholic confecionals but there is definately a need for self reflection and repentance, once you can admit the problems you are having, you can pray for help in overcoming them.

its to show that u are commited to making a change,.it dont hav2 b through speach exactly,but just telling god in your thoughts,its like any desision u make,u speak it out......one reason bein i guess that u wud want to change,and in speakin it out,it involves other pl(or god) to help u commit to tour desicsion.
