Woodstock was staged

The festival known as "Woodstock" and used as a catalyst for social movement in the late 60's in fact never happened.

What? You may be asking yourself. Allow me to explain.


In 1965 Micheal Lang in collaboration with the ADL (Anti defamation league) were shopping for away to make the current growing sub culture more mainstream and by doing so unravel it in a hurry, This plan was titled )burn out, dont fade away) They envisioned a great festival that could cap off the 60's and put in the minds of the budding counter culture that there time was over and it was time to get jobs pay taxes and start a "real" life. After many meetings some including high ranking Government officials they eventually fell upon a name as well as a site for it to take place.


The original name of this supposed festival was Sitka Summer Music Festival and took place in Sitka Washington in 1968. Most of the footage that has been pawned off as "Woodstock" footage is actually from Sitka as well as ALL music that was recorded and sold as "Woodstock".


Although turn out was good it did not have the effects that Lang and the ADL were hoping, mainly do to the fact that it remained mostly unknown in the minds of middle america, They decided at this point a "real" festival was not a likely probability and quickly began work on "Woodstock"


A festival to end a movement

In 1969 propaganda funded by the ADL and Lang and his buisness partners began to spread, And the counterculture was on the move to a supposed festival in a small town in New York. Upon arriving they were subjected to a few sub par shows and using a combination of "Bad acid" (Brown?) and sub frequency vibration were tricked into think the festival lasted 3 days, when in fact it ended officially 46 hours after the first people began to arrive.

It was supposed to be "Woodcock", a festival for erotic Amish wood craftsmen to shape various phallus's out of many types of wood. Namely beech, oak, and maple.

Woodcock would have been more fun and hilarious, and a bit more tasteful, yet still delightfully naughty

 

Woodcock almost happened in 1987 but the CIA took all the maple that was going to be used for the festival and replaced it with pine, The cocks may have smelled fantastic but the sticky sap and unpleasant texture turned away many festival goers.
