Getting rid of the DEAD TAPES......

When I realized what day it was and how somethings have changed so much in my life from 1985 to the present... And how the Grateful Dead has always been there in some way.. I was redding up and was just putting stuff in the garbage to get burned and.. Well I came across all my DEAD tapes. Over 100 + 90 min cassettes.. a few dats, Ive never use either.. some videos vhs..
I dont know what I was really thinking but I knew what I was doing.. And I took all the cassettes and dumped em in the barrel.. The videos Ill keep..
Ive already saved most of em on cd/burns as far as I know.. Pttf what a waste of time that was since almost all the shows and stuff can be downloaded online..

A little early for a fire... Maybe tonight Ill roll a big number and burn em..

Why would you want them... All is available now on the internet...

holy cow... are they really worth something today?
I mean really I got a good tape deck. I just find em "Old and in the way"...
Since they have been dubbed and all. Even double copies of some..

Please explaine why they are still good for something before I make em tinder..
I know the analog is still choice for some...

its really just nostalgia... i mean.. tapes become rarer and rarer as the years go by... if you really don't want them.. and want someone that would really appreciate them.. find out the shipping costs and i will pay the freight for them

They aint in no danger yet.. their in a trash can but its clean and all..

So you really thinks I should put em up, or sell em.... As a DEAD HEAD I have no problem giving them aways... To another DEAD HEAD of course.

What about degrading chrome and oxidation? They really are still in good condition...
they had their abuse though, sure some got some rumbbles and exposure spots, a few seconds of damage..
I know how many Ive lost along the years too...SAD> Maybe I should put more thought into it...

 

i would not sell them... i mean.. thats not dead like.. tapes are meant to be traded.. don't start turning into a bobby here and thinkin that you should start charging for what was once free...

 

Yea I agree with Joker. Even if your starving and broke, at least trade them for food

cant just burn that man. Trade them or pass the love. I would kill to have my hands on a good collection of tapes.

 

Burning them? The dead tapes are not like Jimi Hendrix's guitars.
He said to sacrifice the things you love... but guitars can be re-bought.
DEAD tapes are rare, nostalgic and amazing.
Trade them for food or clothes or something like that... or jewelry.

Don't sell them for money.

Always be a deadhead about life and the way it flows.

Im going to give them to someone here... I get a few minutes to see how to do it.. but we got the jist of it so far..
