Heya! I think I'm starting to become obsessed with getting dreadlocks again. Way back in 2002 I was obsessed with getting them done too, but my hair was only about an inch long. Now, that I've had the time to think about who I am, and what I want to achieve, I feel that this supressed urge to have dreadlocks is now re-awakened. Only thing is I have very fine (but alot) loose curly hair, that already is starting to naturally dread on the undersides of my hair. I want to have thin wispy like dreads, so not too fat - Is that achievable with my described hair type? here's a pic. (I'm the chick)
I think the dread'sperts will tell you that all hair will dread if left to its own accord. It might take you longer but well... I'm enjoying having to learn a bit of patience, I think you will too. Go with it! x
fine hair actually dreads easier than thick hair. Your hair is at a perfect length and is a nice texture to go natural if you choose that route...
Just play with your dreads a bit and looks if they are knoting together and try to separate them, no need to rip that much and it won't harm even if you do
my hair is around the same texture and i backcombed a bit and then just let it do its thing and they are locking up fast and it has only been a little over a month,,, should be no problem at all, i found the less i do to it and the crazier i roll around at night while sleeping, the better they lock up.
Cuz if it looks bad on me, I want to somehow detangle them- Maybe before they lock up, and not to have lots of ripped hairs. I think I'll allow them to form when I'm overseas.
ah... gotcha. I think dreads would look very nice on you, but with the natural route it'll definitely be a tough coupla' years before you start feeling satisfied with them... so definitely something to think about.
