so i have to get my wisdom teeth removed in three weeks and im wondering if it would be possible to get my tounge pierced before then. i know you have to take it out for the surgery so would it heal up in a day or two if its new? i could do it after the surgery but i dont know how long it will take for my teeth to heal. ideas?

I would get it done after the surgery.
It is probably not a good idea to try to be healing both a new piercing and from surgery.
Or, How long before the surgery could you get pierced? I know that tongue piercings have very quick heal time (for most).
Perhaps if you get it pierced asap- in three weeks you could most likely take it out for procedure for a short time, and be ok.
If it "new" it will most likely heal up in a "day or two"
--I can't tell you .whether or not it WILL heal up depends on how your individual body heals.
I have known people whose piercing healed in a matter hours overnight,
and others who took out their tongue ring years ago, and are still pierced.

I'd wait until after the surgery. You want to give you body the best chance to heal injuries, so do them one at a time. Also, you'll spare yourself a lecture from the dentist.

After three weeks, its iffy if you could take it out for a short while. My tongue closed in a few hours and I'd had it for 3 months. My body just doesn't like piercings, though. Other people may have no problem. It really all depends on your healing response; no way to tell.

Anyway, since its only three weeks, I'd just wait. It'll give you a chance to look for a good shop and all, as well.

    Cheers

It really depends on your body. Some people heal faster than others. Tongue piercings have a relatively fast healing rate but it all depends on what you eat, how you clean them, etc etc.

It's usually best to wait between such major healings. Give it time! Your tongue will be there when your wisdom teeth are healed!

wait.when i got mine done the bar actually fell out half way home.by the time i got back to the place the hole was already closed and took 20 minutes to finally get it back in.and if you happen to get an infection from either the piercing or the surgery it will go from one to the other.

You should wait it out maybe a month after the wisdom tooth thing. Otherwise the pair will be too much to bear.
