This movie, about John Lennon's death, is exactly what we don't want happening. The movie is publicising his killer, which is the exact reason he did it. Plus, they take a giant star like Lindsay Lohan and it will recieve huge media publicity and what not. Why are they glorifying a killer by making a movie aobut it?? I for sure am never seeing that movie, and I strongly urge others not to. Remember John's life not his death and the killer.
Mark David Chapman killed Lennon because he was a psycho. Not necessarily for publicity. Chapman was obsessed with the Catcher in the Rye to the point where it governed many aspects of his life. He saw John Lennon as a representation of how phony popular culture seemed to him at the time. It's important to remember people like John Lennon, but its also important to learn and remember the reasons that people, especially crazy people, use to justify extreme actions. Such as killing popular musicians. Besides, it's hella interesting.
But you must admit there was the publicity aspect to it, and this movie is glorifying that. Either way I don't want to see it, just like I didn't want to see Passion of the Christ. Why do people want to focus on death, instead of life achievements?
