Okay, so we've all heard John Lennon's "Imagine." I don't know if everyone out there has heard of a band called A Perfect Circle (I think they're fucking groovy, I might add), but they remade "Imagine." It's a lot darker and heavier--if you're into rock you'll love it.
So anyway, if anyone out there has heard it, what do you think?

I personally think they fucked this song up... it sounds whiny as hell for a rock band. I love the song, and I love Perfect Circle, but they really should have left this one alone... it makes me want to slice my fucking wrists!!

    Groove on!

I kind of would have to agree here, I really love a perfect circle, and of course I absolutely love Lennon's "Imagine", but i don't necesserily like their version of it. It's too dark and depressing, Imagine is supposed to be a happy song, supposed to make you feel good. I mean, I like the song because i'm openminded enough to appreciate their efforts and what-not. But lennon definitely get's the cake on this one.

i heard it and didn't like it at all.... sorry, but it's terrible, and i actually like a perfect circle. i guess that when you're covering such a classic though, you're gonna get shit from ppl either way, ppl dont like it when you change the classics. lol

Yeah. The whole CD sucks. One of my friends burned it for me. The first whole half is him whispering. Theres one song on there that actually sounds like A Perfect Circle, and everything else sucks ass. All songs are covers, except two, and on of those is just a remix of the other one. Don't buy it, its not worth it. If you really want to hear it, get it from a friend or download it.

It's my assumption that they had a contract with some music label, and needed a CD, quick. So they had no time to write any songs, and just decided to do covers. They also had no time to do anyhitng with the songs, so they all sound the same.

Why that post above entered in the middle of my typing is beyond me...

Personally, I loved the cover of imagine. Lyrically, it is a song that's kinda depressing & I love Maynard's voice-no matter what he is singing. But I'm not the biggest Beatle's/John Lennon fan either. I thought the cd is appropriate for everything going on, but is a lil cliche' since it's covers. My bf thinks it's horrible. I've heard a few people thinks he sounds monotone. Oh well.
