Hey guys, my dreadlets hit the 2month period today. This is what they looked like in the very beginning (no that's not tapeworm lol, but hemp string) This is what they look like today, after 2 months: Top view: Face view: Side view: This a side image, as you can see, the hair on the back of my head is/was too short to back comb. The hair behind my ear formed naturally. I might continue to see how it looks naturally, or might end up back combing them so that my dreads don't look weird because half were back combed and the other half was natural. Peace up.
Nice for 2 months! and dont comb them out, your natural / backcombed locks will look the same 6 months from now
Was the hemp string to holdem together so they'd knot? I may need to do that mine just a month old....
Not bad for 2 months. Though they look waxed to me. Maybe just because they're wet perhaps? I assume if you post here you know to not use wax. Keep at it, friend!
i thought they looked waxy ase well but maybe just wet or oily when ya 1st started i rememberred ya talking boiut how short the back was and aall and concidering how choppy it was and all it looks fine when it startsd growin out more it'll look interesting i think
Either wax, or dude, you should wash more.. Rember its alot better to keep the natural hair oils stripped.. You're dreads will thank you..
heh my bad for them looking wet, I took them right after working out when I was all sweaty and nasty. and no, screw wax, I wouldn't touch it 1 mile away with a stick. Just curious how short was the hair that you couldn't backcomb into dreads? Right now my hair is about 3 inches on top and about 2 inches on the sides. I'm trying to start backcombing ASAP.
the back was at 0.5-1 inch. I'm pretty positive once they hit 4-5 inches i'll back comb them. They are at 3.5-2.5 now ^_^.
One of my friends(who is greek) has hair just like you, and he has dreads also(His are 4 years old).. When he was a few months in, they totally looked like yours do. Your getting some nice formation, in that last pic, its defiantly shaping up dude..peace:sifone:
