Ok well itsdarts lets get back on subject shall we? You ask why is it the cjig god that so many people around the world choose right? Well here's the simple answer. The cjig god is the one that appeals to the masses. It is the one that so many people would flock to the local mosque, church, or tabernacle to hear about. Why does it appeal to the masses? Well we may never know for sure. I suppose we could always do a poll or something like that to find out, but I highly doubt the answers would be the same in even 1/10 of the people asked. The cijg god gives hope to people, he gives them something to look foward to after they leave this mundane world behind. He gives them a reason to live. There is your answer as best as it can be put.

No offense OlderWater but there is no proof that the scientific community wishes to displace any god. As a matter of fact in more recent years I have not even heard them mention god all that much in their theories. Of course I find TV to be a waste of time so it's possible I've just missed out.
    Peace, love, and respect.

    common courtesy and politeness :smilielol5:

Have you taken a look at your posts lately?

I suggest you do before you start talking about “common courtesy and politeness”.

    Thanx, no offence taken.

Please though, let me review the conversation for you.

    Itsdarts said;
    To which I said:
    to which he said:

    to which I said:
First, at no time did my fingers leave my hand.

Second, at no time did I say that Scientists have an agenda to prove (or disprove) your god or any other god, that was Itsdarts that said something like that.

What I was saying is that, in a time when scientists are being caught cheating and turning in doctored results, it might be a bit naïve to believe that scientists have no agenda other than pure science for science’s sake.

Nice' Old water's managed to high jacket the thread hence all the biblical quotations. I do not know what they prove apart from his fervent belief in the truth of biblical scripture.

Can the bible add anything of substance to this discussion. I do not think so. You just have to look at motley crew of eccentrics, malcontents, miscreats and down and out haters who put the thing together. It is little wonder that the thing is so full of contradictions, inconsistancies, and general poor fiction: indeed anyone who values a degree of intellectual hygene in there literature would be advised to stay well away from this one.

    Thanks for your interesting research!

And the materials OlderWaterBrother posted, which included the commentary on the 5 days of creation in the Bible, can be found in the following book (mark, however, it is NOT a commercial or other advertising, just an answer to a question):
"Life -- How did it get here? By evolution or by creation?", Chapter 3,
published by "Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, INC",1985.

This book cannot be found online, not by the authorization of the publishers anyway, and thus cannot be linked to.
But everyone can obtain this highly informative and interesting book from the local Jehovah's Witnesses in their local Kingdom Hall; this literature is distributed freely, but can't be bought or got from any other sources.

The full list of reference materials is in the back of the book. Of course, the book does not consist of the borrowed material alone. It is mainly written by its authors, the quoted materials are only used to support the authors' views -- as is usual in such cases.

Sorry, sometimes I get into a bit shorthand and refer back to things already said without mentioning them, guess it takes a bit of getting use to. If you're listening, I'll try to remember; I got some "splaining" to do

Oh man, aguest, now look what you've done. Now you’ve gone and spoiled it for Itsdarts, he was having such fun calling me a lair and a cheat and a thief and such. Now he’s going to have to call me something new but I guess he could ignore your post and keep calling me the same old things.

No worries man. I'm fairly new here. Just takes time to get to know how someone writes. So where is itsdarts at? I still want to see how he answers to my answer to his question. Hmm

    No evidence? I disagree.

You know how I know the God I believe in is real? I wake up everyday and look at the world around me.... simple as that. How do you think it got here? Honestly I would rather believe that I have a reason to be on this earth, and that theres someone up there that put us here. Sure the world can be crappy sometimes, but if you look at it... its our fault its so freaking screwed up. Idk, I just think its more reasonable for us to come from a higher being than for us to just chemically burst out of no where someday.... for no apparent reason.

And no I dont think its odd that God hasnt tryed to talk to anyone in over a thousand years, what I think is odd is that no one has tryed to listen....

Maybe my evidence isnt good enough for you, but I can say the same thing about yours. What evidence do you have that God isnt real and how can you say he doesnt exsist if you never even knew him?

And btw... it might sound crazy of me to think that there is a God and that he loves me... but think about it... if im wrong, and there is no God, and after I die im just going to disolve away with the rest of the world... then what do I have to lose? Nothing. I will be wrong, and never know it....

But what if your wrong? What if something happens to you and you realize there is a God, and that he loved you that whole time.... and then its too late. I have nothing to lose, and you have everything.... im sorry, but THATS what sounds crazy to me.

But im not trying to sound like one of those rly religious ppl that thinks the whole world is going to hell... because trust me, im not that person. I make mistakes, and im no saint... im just trying to anwser your question.

    Hope it helped... ?

I agree it may appeal to the masses, but I would also add that its the religion(s) that the masses grew up with in most cases and its the religion(s) of the cultural locations. There are at least 1 billion Hindus, about equal with the Islamic faith, so for one group of "masses" they choose a completely different path, because it appeals to them.

I also agree that religions offer hope, especially to the poor and down trodden. My original post was trying to make the point in an off handed way, that people are what they are (typically), because of location and culture.
