advice on getting ripped off!

I"m finally getting some weed (hooray) so I need some tips so I know if I'm getting ripped off...like what should it smell like, what should it look like, etc. etc.

what does it normally look like to you? smell like? taste like? blah blah...
i don't think anyone would put time and effort into trying to rip you off. as in selling you something thats not weed. if thats what you're worried about. if you haven't smoked before, why dont you bring a friend along with you when you get it so they can decide for you. we all have to start somewhere i suppose.

Jeez Foxy, if you're asking these questions, maybe the most important question is how well you know/trust the person you're scoring from. If it's someone who's definitely a serious burner, probably the worst that can happen is you'll pay too much. After all, the seller's in control on this one. He/she knows you're not likely to back out once the stuff is there.

If it's someone who'se remotely a stranger or sketchy, make sure they show the stuff before you produce the cash. Don't fall for the "quick, the cops are coming" crap. And try not to let on how little you know about the herb! If it looks like oak leaves mixes with oregano, it probably is. I hope this is a friend, or a friend of a friend, and not some random street hookup. If you feel threatened or unsafe, GET OUT. It's not worth it.

Have them measure the bag in front of you - it should be the amount you're paying for plus a little to accomodate for the bag (like a gram or two, because that is indeed how much bags weigh). If it's less even with the bag (again, like a gram or so less), call him out. Politely, just say, "whoops, looks like you packed it a little light! how about chucking in a couple buds?" or something to that extent (maybe a little less nerdy! ).

Inspect the bag before you fork over the money. It never leaves your pocket without you checking out the herb, because if they already pocketed the money, it makes it a lot more difficult to refuse to buy the bag if you're not satisfied with it.

Smell it. If it's necessary to shove your nose into the bag to smell it, it's low or medium quality herb. If you're paying for low or medium quality herb, so be it. If he's telling you it's "nug" or something, he's a liar and you should call him out on it. "uh.. this isn't good herb, man. what's the deal?"

Look at it, and poke a couple fingers in the bag. Does it look kinda like it's crystal-y? Has it got little red/brown hairs on it (called pistils)? Do you notice a lot of stems, or is it mostly fat buds? Are there seeds? If you don't mind seeds (overgrow the world on April 20th!!), it's all good. Even so, there shouldn't be an overwhelming amount of them in the bag. Does the herb feel dry, thin, and crunchy, or does it feel sticky (resinous = good!), springy, and fat? The latter is definitely better! Again, if it doesn't meet all these standards entirely, it's all good as long as the kid's not promising you some righteous herb. But it shouldn't be TOO far from them, all the same.


Never, ever, ever allow the dealer to push you over! Never go with a deal if you feel it's not a fair one! Never back down from making sure the pot's measured in front of you, and never fail to inspect the pot. If when you inspect the pot, you feel disappointed, just say no thanks and walk away. The dealer is NOT in control. YOU ARE! You're the one with the money, and it's a buyer's market (for those who play their cards right).

I also suggest you start off buying smaller amounts, like 1/8s and 1/4s (usually around 25 and 40 bucks, respectively). This way, if you do end up getting a bit bamboozled, it's no big hit. Also, this gives you a chance to make more transactions with the dealer for a little while and get to know them a bit better, see if you can trust them with bigger amounts like an ounce or so.

Just be confident and don't let people fuck you if you think they are. Unfortunately, you're also a chick, and a younger one at that. I know from experience that this means people will be much more likely to try and dick you over. It sucks, but it's a fact of life. Don't take shit from assholes. Be tough! ^_^ I also recommend you bring a guy friend, just because I'd probably be reluctant to go alone to something like that if the dealer's a guy. I'm rape- and other.bad.stuff-paranoid.

From an old timer to a first timer:

1) In america, a known first timer is usually cut some slack- so don't worry.

2) Different brands of baggies wiegh different amounts. From 0.75gr to 1.75-2.5gr for ziplocks. If it's not a ziplock, call it 1 gr.
In any case, you have to trust the person you're getting it from; If later you decide you were ripped off, consider it an inexpensive lesson.

3) Don't pay attention to stonerbill.

 

Just gain alot of knowledge about marijuana and then youll always be able to critique peoples weed.

You obviously know what marijuana smells like. Well it pretty much all smells the same unless you get some wierd hybrid strain (taking two kinds of weed and putting them together). So look for that special smell and the stronger the better in my opinion.

Also make sure they have properly dried it and cured it!!!!!!

Also I would watch them wiegh it up personally that always helps...
Or invest in a digital scale then youll always catch the motherfuckers selling you sacks a few points down. I guess you could call that being picky but I do whatever I can to get a good deal becuase Im poor and cant buy weed often.

She's fifteen you guys, I doubt this guy is gonna weigh it out for her. Most people just eyeball [regs] till about a half o. I really doubt the guy is gonna have a scale there with him, unless he's really serious about it.

 

well if it suposeldy GOOD BUD smell it. itl smell flowery.. BUT iv noticed that cheap stuff has a kinda thicker more bitter smell and the GOOD stuff has a sweater almost sugery smell.. and usually if its al crubms their ripping u off ( unles thats what they say their seling you and give u it cheap) and despite what other may say... if ur just starting id buy 1-3 gramms maybe an eight if u want too but if ur byurslef smokeing it. 1 gram will last u quite awhile
