I notice whenever I stay awake for a few days, I'll begin to hallucinate a little... I've been up for over 48 hours as I write this, which isn't really that long (I've stayed up for 4 days before and don't remember falling asleep because it felt like I was sleeping the whole time, like a lucid dream. I smoked a bowl this evening and about 10 minutes into my high I began seeing some minor visuals and auditory hallucinations...I thought that someone was in the bathroom with me and saw shadows shifting around the room! Part of this state could be explained by supplements I take every morning for my adrenaline, B-12, B6, etc to keep me energized all day...so as soon as I take this, I won't be able to sleep for about 24 hours afterwards...my brain goes on vacation and my body is energized, and by the 3rd day it usually feels like my whole body is 'buzzing'. It's quite strange. my eyes are small like beads but eyes are droopy and bloodshot...I feel a strange euphoria (which is amazingly nice) all day like I'm high and take a few Vicodin to enhance the experience. Does anyone else get this? It's like a waking dream state of extreme light-headedness and dreamlike images and sounds...I thought maybe it was just me, since I have a personal history of sleepwalking and talking. I just hope I never 'decide' to sleep-drive. =/
haha, holy shit. do you do this on purpose or are you just an insomniac? staying up an entire night usually fucks me up and gives me sleep paralysis the next night... i couldn't imagine doing it any longer than that
I only do this on purpose when I'm on break for a week or so and have few responsibilities..I used to be an insomniac tho before I got the medical green.
Some people use sensory deprivation, which could include sleep deprivation, to have a psychedelic experience. So maybe you're getting some effects of that?
Sleep Deprivation can indeed cause you to hallucinate if stayed up for long periods of time. 48hours seems to be the breaking point when hallucinations occur. LOL... I just said sleep deprivation was like doing acid in another thread... for real I get very little sleep and I see things alot... but they are really mellow, waves, like a lsa trip at a distance Ill see much bigger things.. forms in the sky hills and trees... but eventually Ill sleep.. after 24 or so hours up, yeah Im trippy... Thats cool gormur...
I tend to stay up for 3-4 days without a nap an' sometimes I remember hallucinating. But I tend to get the most trippy stuff when my head finally hits that pillow an' I pass out into my dreams.
I've always compared sleep deprivation to being high. It is kinda fun in a way but what always sucks is even after sleeping finally I feel super tired and just not myself at all for awhile.
