hello all i have a big problem i got my dreads put in 5 days ago and they are falling apart big time. My mom would only let me get them if i got them done at a hair dresser so i did and she sectiond put a little bit of wax on each section then did a very bad job of backcombing them and that was it no palm rolling nothing just that. Since they looked like crap i started palm rolling, root tubbing and tip rubbing right away. They looked better but then they started having no definition and were loose and puffy so i put beads on the bad ones. after putting beads on them they stayed seperated but alot of the dreads are splitting in two and some are even loose enough to rub a comb through them. Some are comming nice but otheres are pure fucked. Any help on how to get them to form and stay together as well as the tightening process would be appreciated. I have not used wax since the intial dreading but have used a sea salt spray with a little lemon juice and been palm rolling the shit out of em and havent washed yet its been almost 5 days is this good or bad ? thanks in advance peace love to all

my backcombing fell right out, then they started locking properly. Just relax and let them do there own thing.

first of all wash your hair, wash all the wax away from it. backomb them again and sew them with a felting needle, then leave them be. When hair starts growing from your roots put your dread between two of your fingers and start twirling, spining and rubing them clockwise (or not clockwize, or even better both). And thats all you have to do to maintaing them. Atleast thats what i think.

well some people wont recomend it i guess, but its the fastest way for your dreads to mature and tighten up i think. Its a little hard for me to explain this procedure , coz im not that good with the english language, but... you need the thin-est possible needle (it must be like a little hook). You put it through your dread and take in the loose hairs, but you must be carefull to take in the right hairs, if you dont want your dread to have flaws and defects. You do this once and then leave your dreads to do it by themselfs. Search the net for more information how to do it properly, like i said its a little hard for me to explain it properly.

dont crocheyt it will weaken your dreads
    get allllllthe wax out
if they fall apart thats fine
one theyre clean leave em alone
if u backcome do it once and thats oit
dontr palkmro;lll the shit outta em dont rub dont twist and roll (ok a lil playin tewistinbs fine but generaly leave em alone) wash em, beads are fine.beads are good in facet but only time will lead to dreads
the more in a hurry you are the shorter your journer will be (i dontr mean just to look like ui got dreads, i mean your journrey will end quicker if u rush it)
needles throiugy dreads rip hairs to shreds and will one day cause dreads to breakj
overrrubbing as well weakens dreads and will make them break
the more you rush it the less time they will last..
salons are terrible ways to get dreads
    they allways mess it up

lets see some pics of the mess they made and we'll try to salvage them, but 1st u need to remove all traces of wax

and stiop trying to hurry the process..

its ok to not wash for 5 days, but washing is a good thing, not bad,so go ahead and wash..

keep in mind its a process... 5 days on they'll look like shit... 3 weeks in they'll be doin what they do..months in they'll be formin and channging and the less u try to controil the process the more you'll emnjoy watchin it do what it does
