"One of the world's leading Joni Mitchell cover groups, 'Big Yellow Taxi.dk', are set to release 11 more 'unreleased' songs."

Our first CD "A Tribute to Joni Mitchell" from 2002 was made in connection with our visit to a gathering of Joni fans at Big Indian near Woodstock. Here we were given a lot of unknown Joni songs from early concerts and radio live shows. Songs that have never been released.

Now it became a lot more interesting to play Joni songs. Not copying but playing them in our way and presenting some nearly forgotten songs of an Icon to the world. The first 3 came on "Unknown and Famous Song of Joni Mitchell" in 2006 and was approved by Joni Mitchell and Sony ATV).

She must have been very creative at that time 'cause now we can present 11 more songs that never found their way to her records. Among them, the very first song that Joni Mitchell wrote: Day after Day.

Joni Mitchell may have released her first album in 1968, but the period of '66-'68 was incredibly prolific for her. Song To A Seagull contained her more recent work and left dozens of SUPERB songs behind. Big Yellow Taxi has re-discovered these gems and re-configured them with a multitude of musical colors, updating the styling but staying true to Joni's composition and emotion. Christina's crystal clear voice navigates the sometimes-tricky melodies with ease, and Henning and band excel in their musicianship. The result is an amazing album of lovely songs that would have been big hits had Joni released them on her own. Get this now and prepare to be amazed!

These recordings of some of Joni's earliest -- and seldom if ever heard -- work are priceless.

When I heard a few fragments on CD Baby I couldn't believe that this Joni Mitchell tribute group didn't contain any Joni Mitchell herself, because the group is much more than a Joni-alike. They're almost like twins, in soul and matter. Of course it is because singer Christina Friis has not only a similarly coloured voice, she is able to give the same range and singing technique. I'm not surprised this is Joni Mitchell approved. Besides that the arrangements have their own vision, and everything reveals a purity and honesty which counts heavily.
