Is it BS? I know it is on the dreadhead hq website which makes me inherently skeptical, but I tried it and it seems to make the base of the dreads really knotty and makes them stick straight out. Is this ok/ productive to do to dreads ? I've also done some palmrolling, because a great many are wanting to be completely flat.

Not sure if it's that good, eventually it would losen up your dreads, same for palm roll.

And clockwise or not where's the difference?

your hair naturally rub when it moves everytime in a normal day so no need to rub it again its already forming new knot just wash and wait :)

you can rub /twist your hair - it all helps..trust me..been growing mine for over 13 yrs!!! when i first started..was always twisting my hair and never did it any wrong. Ask anyone whom has grown theirs that long, they will agree that most moevement within the head is good, helps train the hair and gathers loose ones too :)

either direcytion it dont matter but the weay they tell u to do it on freadhead will weaken the dreads palmrilling rubbing twisting it all doesnt matter ..just play with it a lilk bit ..shake it aeounbd whatever u feel like but just dont over do things i hear pof ppl spending 4 hiurs a day rubbing anr rolling and that can only do dammage notyto mention waste a hell of alotta time

the 1st couple weeks i was dreadin i playedx wiith em maybe an hour tops (few min here and there scattered throughout the day) after the 1st week or 2 i doubt i spent 5 min a day messin with em....
never once used any metids or palmro;lled or rubbed (just twisted lil bit when bored without even thinkin boiut it

    (too tired to type sorry)

point is, whren your dreads are short n new u can rub alot and yewa they'll knot and stick straight out all over..(and you'll weaken them in the process) oir u can let em be let em hang naturaly and let time take care of it instead of wastung time forcing it

btw with rubbin clockwise counter clockwise side to side up n down round n rounbd it dont matterwhat way you move the hair as long as it moves it knots..lol

everything in moderation^^ it works for me, makes it go faster but dont do that too much because you will damage the hair

    ^agreed...

as for flat dreads... i used to have same problem, but latley ive ben creating mini beads (or maintainence beads if you will, we) to help them round out some. sofar it seems to do a good job espasially at my former beaver tail roots. and it has also help to knot up the roots. so you could try that out...
