Metal doesn't get much coverage for mainstream. I'm in a metal phase right now musically. I'm more into glory metal than anything. I listen to all music. It all appeals to me. There's just certain genres I'm not too fond of but I can tolerate.

Overall I grew out of most metal as I get older really. I still go back to Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath though, two classic bands that made two very different types of metal. Much of the 80's and modern day metal groups ruined the genre my opinion, but everyone likes music differently.

 

Yea, I dig the Wizard. Sleep owns them though, IMO.

^ The first ten minutes of "Jerusalem," which was originally released without the approval of the band. They rerecorded the song and released it as a single track, titling the album "Dopesmoker." It's a 60 minute behemoth epic about weedian, and the opening lyrics (which aren't until a few minutes into the song) are: "Drop out of life with bong in hand / follow the smoke to the riff filled land."

 

Hm, don't know of them, I will have to give them a listen.

 

Ok listening to the song and it is awesome so far, I will definitely get more. Doom and Stoner metal is so awesome.

Anyone here listen to sunn o))), its like doom metal mixed with the animal collective. They are a really interesting band. The lead singer is kinda crazy, for one song he locked himself in a coffin with a microphone to record the lyrics.
