i can get around anywhere on a mountain now on my board but i cant do park. so im finally starting to get serious and hooking myself up with new gear this year. just got my board in this last weekend. its a 154 rome agent, amazing board. havent heard any bad reviews about it yet. now im lookin at it in person http://www.dogfunk.com/dogfunk/ROM0055/Rome-Agent-Snowboard.html any other boarders here?
I'm a skier, both Telemark and Alpine. I have tried snowboarding a handful of times though, I must say its pretty fun. I'm just too lazy to do all that strapping in and skating around. To me skis are just alot more user friendly. Check out the site www.whiskeymilitia.com they do one deal at a time and have awesome prices (at least 50% off) alot of their gear is snowboard related.
This'll be my 7th season boarding. In Ontario it kind of sucks though for someone that isn't into park, so this year I may start riding more park. I went out to BC in the winter which was a nice change...real snow and powder!!!
I to am a skier, been doing it my entire life. only alpine though, raced with loup loup in Wa for 8 years. i need a new up grade im on 06, 179 salomon pilots. great ski just need somethin lighter. everyone i know is on fisher now. i have much more ski history then board history. ^^
Been riding for about 10 seasons (not years, lol.. my bad)... I'm good and shit, but I never went crazy over park, so I'm not as good as I should be in there. So yeah, I only know a handful of tricks. I ride like mad, though.. I used to ride on a 'race' board.. the long skinny ones that cut off in the back. Some intense carves, man.
You really should, having something that you really enjoy doing during the winter months really makes winter alot more enjoyable! It makes you get exited for big snow storms rather than the typical thought of "Oh great a snow storm now I have to shovel all this shit".
I skied for about 10 seasons, then I boarded for 10, 2 seasons ago i did about 50/50 last season i think I got on the board once. I am really loving skis at this point and will probably get into some new gear this year. I really want to learn how to telemark
tele mark looks like a lot of fun when you make a turn and when your knee goes down you dig into 18 inches of fluff.
I snowboarded for like 2 seasons when I was in middle school. I refused to take lessons and just got frustrated and sat on my snowboard like a sled and road it down the mountain. When I did stand up on it, I wiped out on a patch of ice really fucking hard and have yet to regain feeling in the bottom half of my right kneecap. My parents tried to get me to ski, but at the time my my response was "Skiing is for pussies!", no offense to all the skiers, I was 12 and a fucking rage machine apparently. In conclusion, I wish I knew how to snowboard but as of now, I'd rather drink cocoa.
