For anyone who doesn't know them, they were a supergroup of George Harrison, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, and Jeff Lynne. I bought their complete collection back a few months ago and I'm still listening to it all the time. They were amazing! They really played on each other's strengths, and it's fun listening to all the different vocals because they take turns singing and they all have such recognizable voices. Anyone else a fan? My favorite song has to be "Not Alone Any More", it's a Roy Orbison vocal and it's wonderful.
The best thing about the Wilburys was how it was basically just a group of friends getting together, pissing about and having fun - no egos, no big plan, just the music and the . I bought the box set of their albums and a video DVD a while ago, it's been glued into my CD player for ages. Great stuff
The Best Band. They would make one plan, when to meet. Everything else was spontaneous! One song a day! They Rock! SO good! I listen to them with my dad a lot. Peace & Love
Just became introduced to them in the past few weeks. Funny thing is I liked Harrison, Petty, and Dylan on their own and never knew about the Wilburys until now. Once I heard them I was hooked on them though. Really like "Inside Out", "Congratulations", and "End of the Line" but they are all very good songs!
I love the wilburys. I think harrison first suggested the name "the tremblin' wilburys" but then jeff lynne suggested using traveling instead. I really like "handle with care" and "end of the line"
"Tremblin' Wilburys"... more clever, but too "nervous" for their attitude I think... Favorites, Handle With Care (great Abbey-Road-esque George guitar), Congrats, Dirty World for that great Bob sense of humor that people don't think he has.... Heading For The Light keeps going through my head without warning even if I haven't heard it for a long time... Tweeter and the Monkey Man, was that the title? Vol. 3 first four and Wilbury Twist great, rest I don't know, but I'll take it all anyway...
