Could somebody help me out with a long term seating problem i have?
The problem is this: a long time ago,i saw a programme on t.v,where a nomadic tribe travelled, stopped and set up their hut, then un packed it and left.I am not sure, but i think i recall the words yurt and mongolia in the programme.anyway, the travellers, were using a wonderful form of seating, where they would sit on a seat made of leather or fur,and wrap some kind of straps around their knees and feet.the straps stopped them toppling over, and were connected to the seat made of fur/skin.
I do apologise if my description of the seating seems so vague and ignorant, but i only caught a glimpse of it,and a small reference to what the programme was about.
Does anybody here have any idea what the form of seating is and what it is called, and where they can be bought?
Thank you for any help anybody may be able to give me.:):cheers2:

I know what a yurt is, I have two and have built several more, but I don't know what anything about this seating arrangement. We use folding chairs of leather and wood and large throw pillows. In parts of Asia where farmers and herders still live in yurts, I have never seen anything like that. But I do know that stepping on someone's doorsill as you enter their living yurt can get you executed.

    That having been said...

Thank you very much for such a helpful and detailed reply zoomie. All i can presume,is that the programme was not about mongolia or yurts.the small portable seating i saw,and was enquiring about, was an excellent idea.i think/presume,that it relied on balancing the body,so the person would not topple over.
If i can find out what the programme was called,i will let everyone know.
