Hey guys, as im so bloody caucasian with very straight hair that curls at the ends  when my hair grows im having that old problem of growing normal hair :(
I understand that I will have to do this, so at the moment, im looping the dread through once then back combing and standard maintenance, it seems to be working fine, any other tips or methods?
    Peace of the grove /|\

    noooo dont root flip
that will severely weaken the dreasds and lead to breakage
normal dreads have between 1/8 to 1 inch undreaded hair at the roots thats normal, hair grows and doesnt dread right away till its grown enough to move and knot
just leave it be as it gets longer it will dread but you will always have loose straight hair at the roots
if u didnt theyd always stick straight out

    and dpont backcomb any more
backcombing is a 1 time thing if at all
just be patient they will grow and dread at theyre own pace

Your hair is supposed to grow out straight. It dreads on its own as it grows. I've heard bad things about looping the dreads through the roots so I'd suggest doing some research on that before you continue. It's perfectly normal to have a couple of inches of undreaded hair at the top. Trust me, it knots on its own.

    Ahh gotcha :)
Thanks guys, well I noticed after backcombing the undreaded hair it just creates more and more loops :(
Guess I will just wait it out.

with dreads waiting it out is allways the best polocy
the early months they do alotta strange crazy things and uy can drive yourself insane trying to control the process, but waitting it out will almost always result in amazing dreads
the only axception to that rule is in the case of dreads trying to combine or congo, the result then if u wait it out could be a unidread and in that case the best option is to go aheafd and do maintanance (ripping them apatt from eachother)

i dont get it, i just love when i have normal hair at my roots with all the scalp covered. I never do anything to my roots, they just dread.
