and much like the medical industry, it cares nothing for society as much as collecting its fat paycheque.
Groups such as Drug Free Alliance try to do this. They threaten to confiscate property if adults assist in providing alcohol to teenagers, even if in their own homes. .
On the TV show COPS, some guy thought his SUV was stolen and called the police for help. Two women that were friends of his borrowed the SUV. They had crack in their purses. When the owner of the SUV declined to help prosecute the girls, the cops confiscated his SUV and put it up for auction. They claimed that the vehicle was being used to make or transport drugs and therefore eligible for being auctioned. .
At the middle school I attended a few years ago if you didn't fill out a DARE paper you would get an F for that assignment and I knew a couple kids who didn't sign it and the school brought a drug dog in to smell around the classrooms of most of those kids.
i have never seen them doing that, actually since i left ohio i haven't seen anything DARE at all. if i did, i would do what i could to stop it, but it's hard because all my experiences with DARE cops were there and the manager won't do anything if it is a police officer promoting it.
Lol DARE I remember that...telling us 5th graders about how if you even look too closely at a drug you will go insane, go to jail, and then wander the streets eternally.......
they tried to convince us a couple sips of beer could get us drunk they told us you can die the 1st time you try weed they came up with the most unlikely scenarios to use as examples they just tried wayyy to hard
fuck that sounds like bullshit. i never had that in school myself. that part about kids turning in their parents..... christ almighty, what will the government think of next to destroy peoples lives and time
It's total bullshit, and yeah, Dare lies to kids because its 'protecting them from the dangers of drugs', never mind that the lies they spread are responsible for destroying families and ruining lives. Kids that turn their parents in become (often) wards of the state, bounced from adoption to adoption, and wind up a lot of times as troubled kids, and a whole new generation of lawbreakers and violent criminals.... That's nor worth busting dad for a joint over the weekend now and again....unless you're a local police department that gets to seize the house, the car, everything the 'offender' owns, and use it for department funding and a nice fat bonus. It's sick, like a great many other things in this country.
yep, I passed DARE, and learned a lot about how to not get busted. Thanks, officer jackson, for answering all the questions a curious mind comes up with.
Hahaha, true.. all the anti-drugs talk did was make me want to try drugs even more. We don't have DARE here but the police do something similar, go into schools etc but its nowhere near as hardcore "turn in your parents". I remember the classic myths.. '7 hits of acid and youre legally insane' 'acid is stored in your spine' 'acid eats holes in your brain thats why its called acid'. Sheesh gimme a break.
heh, last weekend i picked up 12 tabs of cid like 100 feet from a DARE stand. i was tripping at the time and i decided to go talk to them. i acted real conserned about a friend who was "using a drug called LSD" and i asked if it was true that it can make you go into psychosis after a single use. they started telling me about how its deadly and all. i just started cracking up and walked away.....prolly wasnt a smart thing to do, but it was fun
