I've been listening to a lot of Immortal Technique and MF Doom, and hear them talking about snitches and shit like that. what do snitches have to do with rap? who do they snitch on, and to what benefit?
Lol, I'll answer this. Good artist choice by the way, Tech and Doom are both raw. Anyways, rap snitches are practically commercial rappers who SNITCH ON THEMSELVES. By rapping about how many guns they shoot and bricks of cocaine they sold, and niggas they killed, etc.. essentially, they are snitching on themselves! If can go 1 of 2 ways. either its true and they're some fake ass niggas for snitching on themselves, or its false and they're just actors with a gimmick. And for example, common sense will tell us that if you committed some crazy crime and got away with it, then obviously you wouldnt go around bragging that you did it. Same thing with hiphop. The real niggas who actually killed people before arent the ones on the mic bragging about it. they keep their mouth shut.
well first off most rappers either don't have or don't own what they boast about... their labels do many times. but anyway, there's a difference between "snitching" on yourself for your business Executives and to look cool and "snitching" on yourself for solely yourself, to make a point. what Tech did essentially serves others, what most rappers do serves them and their label. put it this way: you won't get money for admitting you were manipulated by pressure to be cool they way you will if you say you have money cash hoes. there's no black and white, circumstances are vital when it comes to "snitching"(hate that word) kind of like how there's a a "good" lie and bad lie.
people that rap... rap about their lives usually which has to do with drug dealin and murder. A snitch could put them away for a long time if they know alot about the rapper. but MOST rappers gave up that life and make all their money from rappin. and plus, who the fuck likes snitches anyways??
