Well, my dreads are 15 months old now. They're fat, and much longer than they were. I love them! I definitely look a little crazy . . but that's the thing. I totally am.

I just spent the summer traveling thru America . .
    The cities are a wasteland.
Other human beings tend to treat me like shit, calling me names, asking me for drugs... many refuse to believe I'm an intelligent person just because of the way that I look.
    It's MADNESS!

Went to the rainbow gathering this year, never seen so many dreadheads in my life. It was wonderful to be home.

Babylon is filled with so many negative assumptions, stereotyping psyche's, desperation, and elitism.

    I am a wanderer,
    not your fucking outlet.
    I am constantly reprogramming myself.
I am not locked in a loop like these fools.

100 years ago I would have fit in perfectly with my nomadic "american indian" tribe. We used to kill wild game, moving from place to place...
now I wake up 2008 and everyone has LOST THEIR MIND

    I'm just ranting.
I truly can't believe what the hell is going on here.
    It saddens me,

but I know there are so many of us out there
    inspiring, progressing, loving, changing, working...

    loving you.

Babylon will never let up my friend, so why should we?

I see the horrible things people do day after day and I feel the same way you do towards it. At this point I'm just in utter disbelief as to how people can be so inconsiderate to one another. Sometimes I just ask "why?", not necessarily expecting an answer of any kind, nor really am I asking a question. I just don't understand why some people have the negative mindsets that they do, and one of my favorite activities is just listening to whatever is on other peoples minds (beliefs, thoughts, perspectives etc..)....yet still I have never reached anything even close to a conclusive answer, nor will I ever. There's so much beauty in nature, the natural way of things and lot's of good involved with humanity, it's just that at times I see the bad outweighing the good and it makes me choke up inside....a very odd feeling, as though when I feel it I don't know how I should feel....I just do.

You're not alone in your never ending quest for a place that is untouched by the materialistic, superficial, and other stereotypical qualities of Babylon. I've been wandering for the past 2 years of my life (currently taking a break due to my knee) and I plan on wandering for the rest of it too, in search of a place and a people that are at the very least less affected by the multiplication of unnecessary goods and the brainwashed "need" people feel towards them.

I fear that creating change by being the change we want to see is not working well enough, so I've began to loose all hope.....

What cities did you go to? In hicksville it is expected, but around here its rare to not see someone with dreads at any public place. Larger cities are generally more accepting of dreadlocks because it is minor and tame compared to what else the city holds.

And don't feel singled out, everyone is treated like crap by everyone else - even the average Joe conformists are not accepted by all.

Exactly.....I wasn't just talking about how people with dreads are treated in my post, I was referring to all humanity.....I can't speak for Stalk though.

I totally understand what your saying stalk, bthizle, smash bros, everyone. Being the changes you want to see isn't enough no but man, always searching for an answer isn't the best thing, find something you love to do or someone you love to be with and be happy, and when you got the occasion to do something right or something you want to see change then do it, anything, little details.

The majority of people I see living in cities fake being happy, they are materialist and follow what the exemples shows them, publicity on TV or anywhere else etc etc, huge corporations making money on your back without yourself knowing it, losing your mind. If you don't follow that you'll get lots of negatives comments from people but who care, show them your right and you do what you gotta do. You don't need a big house and a big car and a thousands things and working in an office all year long you never will be happy with these but it's hard to make understand when thats what you see everywhere.

Live your life and try to help the others that's about the only answer haha. I'm pretty much sure I will wander everywhere in my life like some of you do here, trying to know as much people I can and maybe changing things, if 1/4 of the people do it here it will be 1/2 after and so on. I'd say a lot more then that about it but it's useless, just need to do what you think is right and don't fall into that thing called money, or business...

I get so much crap for having long hair itself, without dreads, I can only imagine how it's gonna be if I do get them(trying now). I mean my own aunt is like bribing me to cut my hair with twenty dollars(lol..), and her children now think I shouldn't have long hair cuz I'm a boy.. I love how my aunt's arrogance is turning my cousins and family ignorant. I get crap from alot of people though, except a few people who are my friends, alot of them are actually love that I have my hair, in a lot of ways it helps make me an individual and my friends notice that and like it. Alot of my friends even are telling me to get dreads, even my mom and my brother. I'm just sick of having to brush or comb my hair, and have it a huge mop, and yet no one is satisfied it seems, or will let me just be myself, so I'm going to get dreads, and stop caring as much. I'm so sick of my family saying I shouldn't have long hair, cuz I'm a guy though, it hits more at home, cuz they're my family, why are they so against me? My mom usually just brings up a haircut from now and then, but isn't rude with it usually.

Stereotypes man, stereotypes. Make your family understand dreads arent bad at all, they are good.

If they never made comments about it before why would they now your still the same guy.

I agree with you for the most part....although, I have never once so far been treated badly or encountered one ounce of negativity due to having dreadlocks. i think it is in large part due to how you carry yourself...

Around here I am the man the cats who smoke an' drink come to to get their shit. But yeah back when I had long hair I got treated like a peice of trash. Still do tho. Its more because of my peaceful outlook on life that people give me hell. They know that I won't fight back in anyway so they use it to get their kicks. Sometimes you just gotta learn to live around it man.
