I just finished "The God Box," by Alex Sanchez and I felt a strong desire to share this book with all of you here on the forums. The book is about a senior in high school named Paul, who is struggling with his sexuality and when the new kid, Manuel (Who is also gay), shows up he turns Paul's world upside down. This is a great book; especially for those of you who are struggling with your religion and sexuality, or if you just want to read a brilliant book by an amazing author. Thanks for the review and link. I keep a list of books and sites that younger gay people can benefit from reading.
i LOVED this book. one of my friends whom i've known for years now is bi and she gave me this book to read while i was at her house. i sat down on her bed and read straight (pardon the pun) through it in around/a little under two hours. i immediately got caught up in it and tuned out my friends around me without even noticing (which was probably good, they were messing around with handcuffs... yea... not a good reading atmosphere but fun stufffffs). this book not only deals with the aspect of figuring yourself out, but also briefly, as part of the plot, goes through the most controversial portions of the bible to determine whether or not the bible/God is against homosexuality. brilliant book, i sympathized with both paul and manuel at different points and im campaigning to get my friends (even the straight ones) to read it.
