Hi everyone =) My name is Sundari and I have been browsing the forums and love all the great constructive advice everyone gives on here. I have a couple of questions:

    1. what do you all think of Dreadheadhq's "Lock Peppa"?

    2. My little dreadies are only a week old. I washed the for the first time today and they seem thinner and limp, when I first got them they were thicker and puffy.( I used Dr.Bonners lavender soap) is that normal?

    3. My hair was chin length when I got my locks so as you can imagine they are short. any tips for styling besides a headband?

I also have pics on my profile so you can see =)

    Thank you all!

    Peace.

any product from dreadheadhq or knotyboy is bad, lock peppa too (just cause flakes in your hair)

continue washing your hair with bronner thats good, and for styling tips well, experiment! and wear a wool hat if you can get one.

time gives the best lock, just wash with residue free soap (bronner) or anything you find good

Welcome to the forum, vermonthippiee. :) Bronner's is a quality product that most recommend. I've only used the Bronner's peppermint and Tea Tree, though mostly tea tree. Its supposed to help repel insects and parasites from your hair so its worth trying out. I've never tried out any DHHQ products, though I have some of their shampoo here. I've never used it. I assume best to play it safe and avoid them altogether.

    Good luck, friend!

lock peppa is p[ure crap its basicly rosin which is the flaky crap violinists use on theyre bows (i think its a tree sap or something? it looks like a hard rock but powders or flakes when rubbed in the bow) ive never used theyre products but i couldnt imagine it does anything good and i heard all it does is make youir hair flakey
i think the theorie behind it is that its a stcky crap that helps hairs stick togethger a lil biut i think on violin bows it adds a techture to the horsehair that causes a better vibration on the strings..so with dreadsit adds a sticky techture to the haitr so knots have more to grab onto
but its really a crappy product

lookin at your pics your dreads are commin along nicely ya dont need any crap except bronners or some bakin soda type thing just to keep em clkean u dont want dreadheadhq crap at all that'll just make em dirty

also...cool ass eyes ya got.. ;)

thank you!!! It makes me feel much better! I do not have a lot of people to bounce ideas and such off of, so this is awesome =)

PS how do you guys get those cool counters to say how long you have been cultivating your locklings?

    Welcome!

You could try stylin' them in little piggie tails... or using different materials for headbands (like ribbon and make a cute bow).
