I know how LSD is considered a tool, and that it can be very beneficial if used correctly, whether it be focused on learning new things, expanding your mind or increasing your creativity. I was curious as to what everyones opinion was on how closely related all these newer RC's are to LSD.. Are there RC's that can be just as useful as LSD?? Are there any that you can use to expand your knowledge on certain subjects/material while under the influence of these phenethylamines?? What do you guys think??
I remember someone posting a link to this website and it had me wondering can RC's have the same effect?? EDIT: specifically the section under part V.
2c-e can be surprisingly LSD like at times... All of these "rc's" are tools, and yes, they can be used to expand ones consciousness just like any psychedelic. They all must be treated with the same care and respect.
Is there a reason you are asking about phenethylamines and not about RC's in general? Not from my experience, but from listening around I have heard that the tryptamines seem quite like LSD at times also, most notably DPT, as trancedeviate said: But from what I have also and as pedaltopedal said, 2C-E seems the most like LSD in the phenethylamines.
eh, no reason really; i am very interested in trying some tryptamines but i havent yet.. Thanks for the posts everyone, you've all been very helpful.
LSD is far from the best psychedelic (truly there is no "best" psychedelic.) It has just been around longer. LSD has been put on a pedestal b/c of its legend and history. If the roles were reversed 2CE would be viewed the same way. All psychedelics have the ability to change the way think, that is what they do. I tend to agree with the earlier poster in that it is not the tool you use but how you use it. As an experiment the next time you trip while you are peaking lay down in the dark and close your eyes and put on some great exploratory music, then go deeply within yourself for a long time. Then you will see just how deep some phens can go. As a side note LSD bears both the Phenethylamine skeleton AND the Tryptamine skeleton. It is an ergoloid. The tryptamine family has several recreational psychedelics and deep ones as well, just like the phenethylamine family. So you can't say one family is inherently more psychedelic or more inclined to teach.
Also check out Myron Stalaroff's book From Thanatos to Eros. He is one of the original psychedelic researchers and dedicates a whole chapter 2CE. Here is a quote from the first line of the chapter: "In my thirty-five years of experimenting with old and new psychoactive agents, one stands out in my mind above all the others." He is referring to 2CE the book can be found in digital format through a google search it is highly recommended.
