when using naptha they tell you to use the vm&p naptha, not regular lighter fluid. does it not work as good with regular lighter fluid, or does it not work at all?
regular fluid can contain differeent grades of naptha, and sometimes include other chemical additives.
DCM (aka methylene chloride) > naptha the XlogP is closer to that of DMT than naptha. it's used for plastics welding and sometimes found as paint thinner.
He's right. But the reason you should get VM&P is because a lot of others can have additives, as stated above. I have had very good results with Ronsonol brand before. Coleman camp fuel now adds a rust-proofing agent that WILL NOT dry for shit. It'll turn your DMT green.
few old Zippo cans used to say Naptha. newer cans say "petro dist..? I dont think they could change the trademark brand could they?? Maybe Im wrong...
it's likely the same. naptha = pet. ether = ligroin a mixture of aliphatic hydrocarbons.. pentane, heptane, hexanes etc the reason I suggested dcm is because you'd only need to do two pulls at most and don't need to heat it. with naptha, you'd need to heat it and do several extractions to get any decent yield. there's been much discussion about this over at http://dmt-nexus.com/forum/ from one particular thread: and I realize not everyone is comfortable walking into a lab supply store and asking for ACS-grade methylene chloride, so naptha would have to do for them.. but look for non-aromatic naptha, as aromatics will leave you with sludge. typical hardware store VM&P: CAS# 64742-89-8 , light petro. aliphatic (pet. ether) << suitable for extraction when gently heated (no open flame, for obvious reasons)
If unsure, take a little (of whatever) and evaporate it by itself on a plate. Then check for residue. There should be no residue at all...you should feel nothing, smell nothing, and taste nothing after evaporating it.
